My kids and I loved our stay at Hoofbeats. The site was clean and FULLY stocked with literally anything you would need. Has a HOT shower! Hosts were amazing, as were the horses! And when a SERIOUS thunderstorm rolled through they checked in us to be sure we were ok and not scared - the hosts, not the horses. :)Check in and out was quick and easy. Very highly recommend!!!

What an amazing weekend we had! Missy and George are awesome! Our family of 4 went to stay on their beautiful property and enjoyed every moment. They have truly thought of it all, everything was stocked up. The campsite is clean and comfortable , there is a ton of room. The kids loved playing in the creek. There were crayfish, frogs and small fish. We saw the ponies and horses cross the creek on their way back to the barn at dinnertime! The huge bonfire pit was a hit for making s'mores and keeping warm. The temps hit 35 at overnight and with the propane heater in the tent we were comfortable with it on med. When the battery died on our car when charging I texted Missy and George was there to help within 15 mins with cables. The hiking trails were beautiful and easy to manage with our 4 and 8 year old. I would def recommend the full barn tour (not just if you have kids) I learned a lot too! We saw the ponies, horses, goats, chicken, rooster and bunny. We will absolutely be going back next year! Thank you Missy and George for sharing this beautiful land.

After 20 consecutive years of camping in Vermont, in my absolute favorite spot, the state of Vermont COVID policies forced me to look elsewhere for this year’s camping trip. I may never see the state of Vermont again. That is how great this place is. A quick drive through a beautiful field and a short forested road take you to your perfect camping place. Perfect seclusion in your own forest, with a beautiful creek running by. You are also only 15 minutes from civilization and any item you may have forgotten (which can’t be many because everything you need is already there). If you are thinking of booking this site no need to read further, just do it. All the rave reviews below are definitely true. In addition to all the great things said in the other reviews I will add, this spot would be perfect if you have one or two young children. Tons of room to play and they can be as noisy as they want with no other campers next to you. (The horses are far enough away I don’t think they would mind either). The equipment provided is top notch and is everything you will need, and then some. I am 6’2” and had plenty of room in the bed so this site is officially approved for tall people. Melissa and George were fantastic from first reservation to the morning I left. I can’t wait to go back.

This trip was perfect!! The site is off the beaten path in a quiet wooded area surrounded by trees and a creek. It’s a quiet, peaceful setting perfect for relaxing. Plenty of wild life to be seen right from the camp or you can choose to explore along the trails. All amenities are provided including 2 hammocks, 3 fire pits with plenty of wood, cook stove, utensils, upscale picnic table area, camp chairs, tiki torches, water, large tent with bunk beds, toiletries and linen, and a bath house. Missy was an absolute amazing wonderful host. She responds quickly and is available to help you no matter the time of day. We did the extra add on farm tour where we got to meet all the animals. It was lots of fun!! Missy shared her knowledge with us in a fun and interesting way. I would highly recommend the farm tour. I could go on and on, but in short this was an amazing trip where many memories were made. Missy is an exceptionable host that shared her property, time, and knowledge with us. We would stay here again in a hoof beat!!!

In a word. Magical. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. Made us feel like family. The site is beautiful. Comfortable and well kept. Perfectly shaded. Right next to the river. Everything you need and more. Couldn't have had a better time. A place I will absolutely return to again and again. 5 starts all the way around! Thank you Hoofbeats

We had a fantastic stay at Flat Creek - the campsite was set up with everything we could imagine from multiple fire pits with kindling and wood, to cooking supplies and the luxury of a compost toilet and shower. It was great, too, to be able to park close to the site. The setting is beautiful and private, and the camp owners were so friendly and helpful. We booked a farm tour and learned so much about the amazing ways the horses communicate and live together on the farm. A truly magical experience and location that is not to be missed. Thank you for a wonderful trip!
