Cannot recommend highly enough! Beautiful camping location with everything you might need right down to the insect repellant. We loved the little creek full of frogs and crawfish, seeing the horses cross in the evening in their little herd, and seeing all the other wildlife either close to camp or on the hiking trail (between us, we saw 4 deer, 5 turkey, and 2 herons (male/female)! The cooking area was well supplied, the gas grill works great with the provided stainless steel skillets and pans, and the charcoal grill works great for more campfire cooking. The big wood fire pit was also a joy! Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and we got to learn a little bit more about what Hoofbeats does, which is always nice to learn more about your location. We'd definitely come back again!

We had the most amazing weekend here at Flat Creek Island at Hoofbeats! Melissa was an amazing host that took care of everything!! She had the campsite FULLY stocked with everything you could possibly need. The area was beautiful. It is a very private location with 3 fireplaces, a grill, a small island and a beautiful creek. We can’t wait to come back again soon!

Gorgeous shaded vast spot, creekside. Plentiful amenities. Love the hammocks, the little private island, the wading in the creek looking for crayfish, the immense privacy and the opportunities to see deer, blue heron and the beautiful horses. Giant gas stove ready to use - such a big help and immaculate provisions. The biggest fire pit is where we had our nightly campfires with the oh-so-plentiful complimentary wood and kindling (thank you for all that!) Missy & George are excellent hosts and genuine people who make great efforts not just in the Tentrr site, but their entire 15 acre farm, with a rehabilitative health retreat for horses (so rare and essential), cute couple of fuzzy goats, vibrant chickens and a peaceful place for all beings to co-exist. Very grateful they offer to share a piece of nature the way it was meant to be thrived upon and enjoyed. Tips: Bring your cooler of food & cooking oils, etc, compostable eating-ware (if don't want to wash dishes), extra citronella candles & your preferred bug spray. (It's still camping after all.) The compostable toilet is really smart and not a big deal once you get used to it and learn how to use it properly. The queen-sized bunk bed mattresses are quality AIR mattresses... supportive, but noisy when one shifts around. My kids really enjoyed the hammocks. After being used to noisy family campgrounds each summer, with "quiet hours" often ignored, it was truly remarkable to have only the sounds of nature to soak up. We visited during the global pandemic of July 2020, coming from NYS' downstate. When we emerged from the forest after our peaceful "forest-bathing" weekend, we had to remind ourselves of the current state of the world... It was good to forget for a little while. Thank you very much for the much-needed respite.

This place is absolutely incredible. Melissa and George thought of every little detal to make this a luxurious camping experience. You have an outhouse that is your bathroom and shower giving you privacy and comfort. The picnic table is covered so you are protected from the elements, the tent is very comfortable and set up for a group of 4 and the entire time you are under forest cover which helps keep the area cool. Not to mention how peaceful it is to be on one of the hammocks reading a good book and looking up at the beautiful trees. All you need to bring is a cooler, food and a good book to read. Our dog also had a wonderful time playing in the creek. I cannot recommend this site more. And on top of it all Melissa, George, and their doggie JJ are the absolute sweetest. We are already looking to book our next trip!

Wow Wow Wow. We absolutely loved our trip here. Missy and George have thought about all the needs of a camper and have pretty much covered it all. It makes it almost too easy to go camping! I love the fact that there were 2 hammocks, 3 citronella torches, a propane stove(!) cast iron pans, silverware, plates and mugs, and a covered picnic table. This saved us during a sudden afternoon downpour. I don't think we can go to another state park campsite again. Also, the sun shower setup they created is way beyond most other Tentrr sites. And do ask about the horses. Thank you Missy and George!

Our stay at Hoofbeats was incredible and far-exceeded our expectations. The campsite is beautiful and stocked with all of the necessities. Missy was fantastic- she gave us a lot of information prior to our stay and was very responsive the day of our arrival. We actually showed up 1.5 hours late and she was accommodating, flexible, and very gracious. Our time camping on her property was a welcome escape from NYC and the leaves stunning at peak color. We can't wait to visit again next year- a huge thank you again to Missy for being an incredible host!
