“We had an AMAZING weekend at Flat Creek Island! Melissa was an excellent host and was very responsive to any questions we had before we arrived. She greeted us (with a hug!) at check-in and gave us a binder filled with lots of helpful info and suggestions for things to do in the area. The campsite was stocked with literally everything we needed and was so well maintained - it is such a beautiful place! We were able to cook all our meals comfortably in the covered cooking/dining area and built an awesome fire in one of the numerous firepits scattered throughout the property. You're able to drive right up to the tent which was super convenient since we had 3 dogs and quite a bit of luggage with us. The tent fit the 4 of us comfortably and kept us warm at night. On our way out we stopped by the horse farm where Melissa and George gave us a tour of their wonderful property. They introduced us to some of their ponies, let us feed their adorable baby goats (Mr. Tumnus and Percy Jackson!!) and even gave us some home-grown tomatoes to take with us. They are genuinely the nicest, kindest people and we love their mission of creating a happy, comfortable place for their animals. We loved our time at Flat Creek Island and can't wait to be back some day!!”
“We had so much fun at George and Melissa's! The campgrounds were beautiful and isolated. Super clean with tons of neatly stacked firewood. Our dog loved the creek and the beautiful bridge. Highly recommend this site!”
“Marvelous site, extremely well stocked and cared for. Shower/bath room was spacious and luxurious for a campsite. The tent itself was very comfortable with a particularly cozy feeling provided by flooring, rugs, and candles. Melissa and George were friendly and considerate hosts, and my daughter and I had a lovely experience grooming a pair of horses and learning about Hoofbeats. Crayfish hunting in the creek was another highlight! We highly recommend this site and the Sharon Springs/Cooperstown area for its natural beauty and range of activities. An all-around terrific experience!”
“This was our first Tentrr camping experience and we will certainly do it again! We’d love to come back to Flat Creek Island as well! Even with a whole day and night of rain we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, as did our horses.”
“This was our first trip with Tentrr and had a wonderful stay at the Flat Creek Island at Hoofbeats. The tent was so clean with everything that we needed spic and span! Our two boys ran straight to the creek as we pulled into the campsite and spent the whole afternoon throwing rocks and catching and releasing crayfish in the water with a bucket and net that we brought from home. Although we only used one fire pit, there are three in total as well as bamboo torches which made the campsite look so pretty at night. We also used the outdoor shower which was so easy to use, my husband loved it! We had signed up for a Pony tales program as well with Melissa and her husband and was so happy with it. We al learned so much about ponies and their life at the farm. They even got to groom one of the ponies and hear a story from Melissa! Highly recommend this campsite!”
“What an amazing time! Melissa and George didn’t miss a thing! There is a perfect kitchen set up - the full size propane stove was perfect for breakfast! The tent is so comfortably set up and the bunk beds are great for family - my daughter loved them! The best part though is the private shower/loo set up... great way to shower outdoors! The location is beautiful with the creek and little island set up - we really enjoyed crossing the bridge to hang out on the island and my daughter was always searching for wild horses - we would hear the neighing at night. Just beautiful! Would definitely recommend!!! Thanks Melissa and George for a great Labor Day weekend!”

What a beautiful campsite this is!!! I live very close, but going to this site ,makes you feel like you are thousands of miles away from everyone and everything! It's so secluded and peaceful! And Melissa and her family are soo amazing and kind, and supply you with everything you could ever need!
