Had a wonderful stay at this amazing, peaceful site. The hosts are very kind and thoughtful, providing everything you might need. The site itself is famous for having very low light pollution, so you can enjoy watching the stars, and the tent has everything you might need. Even though it rained for part of the first day, getting to stay inside and cook on the cylinder stove was still a treat. There's plenty of hiking places both in and near the property. I definitely plan to return.

This weekend was so perfect it was surreal. I cannot say enough good things about this site and it’s host Genavieve. Because of traffic problems we arrived later than expected and Gena was still there ready to meet us and make us so at home, even throwing in a cute s’mores kit! As a first time camper I was a little nervous, but I’m absolutely a convert after this weekend! The sleeping accommodations were great, there was so much to do around the property and town that there was never a dull moment, we will be back soon!

We had a great stay at this beautiful, private and comfy site! The site was very private, has many trails to walk around, and a nearby pond that we swam in. It has all the amenities of Tentrr site, plus the site manager Genavieve also provided free firewood and a smores kit to too it all! There were skewers for smores provided, kindle wood, toilet paper, plenty of drinking water. There are two hammocks in the shade which were a delight to relax in and read a book. There are local stores within 5 min drive in case you forget anything. Genavieve also provided with a list of local stores, places and things to do. The bed was really comfy memory foam queen mattress. All in all, we had an amazing time And will be back soon! Thank you!!

WOW!!! This site was perfect for our family. It was such a sweet spot to unwind and let our family breath! Our pups loved it and spent almost an entire day sleeping when we got home. Genavieve was such a great host and incredibly sweet. She offered fascinating history of the site and taught us quite a bit of information. The site was very clean and ready to go upon arrival. We got the bedding upgrade and it was perfect when we got there. The only thing we wish was different was the noise from the road. Although not much traffic, on a Friday or Saturday evening the road down the mountain from the site seems to be pretty noisy. There’s also a nearby house that enjoys practicing shooting their guns. We have no problems with guns and shooting, so if it were just us camping we wouldn’t have bat an eye. However, our 8 year old pup was not so fond of the noise as it sounded like a firework going off every 15-20 minutes for nearly the entire day. Aside from the two things that have nothing to do with the actual site, I’d rate this camping site a 5!

This was our second stay at the Algonquin Gitigaan. It was incredible both times! It’s a beautiful site, with lots of wonderful extras. The propane grill, hammocks in the shade, and sun shower make it a true glamping experience. The property is extremely well kept. We enjoyed the trails and our dog enjoyed running around in the creek. The site has wonderful views of the sky for star gazing at night. A few extras for kids to enjoy- a rock hunt and gnome garden! We can’t wait to go back again! Thanks for the amazing hospitality Genavieve and the whole Moyer Family at Thunderbird Farm.

We (2 humans plus 2 dogs) had a wonderful time for our 2 night stay! The weather didn't cooperate completely, but that's camping. Genavieve was very welcoming, and we loved learning about the history of the farm. Everything was clean and well set up. Firewood was plentiful AND high quality (no worries about trying to get it lit). The bed was comfortable for sleeping, but challenging for older folks to get out of (OTOH, sure beats sleeping on the ground!) . There's a nice little path right around the campsite, and another streamside trail not far away. We were there to just relax, and it delivered. One evening was chilly & rainy (this was mid May, but I think the temp was under 50 and it was damp). We started a fire in the stove tent and it kept it very cozy. The only minor thing to note is that this site is not necessarily quiet. We never saw anybody while camping, but could occasionally hear people at nearby houses - there ARE people living around there after all. You'll probably also hear some traffic noise. I was concerned when I saw that it was close to Route 895, which can be heavily trafficked. However, even at its worst on a weekend with loud Harleys going by, the site is elevated above the highway and noise is pretty well muted. TLDR: Not perfect but we're already planning on going back to this site soon, so that should be a good endorsement!!

We had a delightful time at The Algonquin Gitigann! The camp could not be more perfectly set up. The ground is flat and easy to maneuver; next time, I think I'll bring a badminton set! There are some lovely walks around the property, but it's quiet and peaceful, and private. The camp hosts were lovely and helped make sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint is that I should have stayed a week instead of just the weekend. Can't wait to come back!
