“First the site is awesome and is offered at an unbeatable price, second we got to meet Andrew and his dad who were just wonderful to talk to. Our goal was to stay put, mend the fire, eat, read and nap. It is very easy to find, secluded enough (no cell reception), not far from Walton (great cell phone reception) where there is a well stocked supermarket (Big M) offering local veggies and featuring a cold room dedicated to beverages. The site is beautiful and well groomed. There's lots of extras that I did not expect like cutlery, paper towels, TP, salt/pepper, lighter etc...It was also a boon to have a fridge. When we were there (late August) nights were humid (it rained) and colder than I expected so plan on bringing adequate covers/sleeping bags. Next time I'll take the time to use the wood stove in the tent! This is when the outdoor shower with hot water and real toilet were so enjoyable to use. I cannot but highly recommend "The Back 40" and thanking Andrew for sharing this gem with people. We will be back.”
“First off, the campsite was absolutely amazing! My family and I all agreed that the pictures posted did not do this place justice. It was so beautiful and very convenient for us. We loved the view, the area, the shower & bathroom, the pond, and so much more. Second, our friendly camp keepers were so kind, and they made us feel very welcomed and comforted staying at their campsite. They provided us with lots of places to see and things to do, which helped a lot since we weren't familiar with the town. They also kept in contact with us and made sure we were okay with everything and if we had any questions or concerns, but overall were great to talk to. We will definitely be coming back next year, bringing more family to enjoy and share our amazing experience with. Thank you so much to our camp keeper Andrew and his beautiful lovely family. “Beautiful spot that’s perfect for a private getaway. An ideal “glamping” experience that combines the basics of home life (flush toilet, shower, hot water) with immersion in nature. Pond is great for swimming, fishing and chasing frogs; the stream and forest offer plenty of space for exploration.”
“We loved the back 40! Andrew was responsive and proactive in communicating with us! The camp site is perfect for social distancing quality time. My daughter and I kayaked in the lake, fished (4 fish catch and release), walked the grounds, played games, read books, and watched the fire flies dance in the night! It was sunny and hot and cool and starry night! Highly recommend this site and will def be back!!!”
