“The Back 40 is an amazing spot! The tent is spacious, clean, has a fan (much appreciated- it was hot!)and is totally waterproof (it rained!) This was our first Tentrr experience and Andrew was a great host- very responsive and informative. He maintains the site beautifully. The wide open grassy areas are perfect for lawn games and the view from the tent deck is awesome. While my family enjoys camping- we also like amenities- Andrew has done an amazing job to enhance the camping experience! Having an outdoor shower with hot water and a real toilet is fantastic- the fridge and ice maker were game changers!! Thanks Andrew for thinking of everything needed for an easy, relaxing, and peaceful weekend!! We will be back soon.”
“Andrew’s campground was the perfect weekend getaway and I believe I can speak for my friends that it has been the most memorable first camping experience. There was plenty of land to explore and we were never short of things to do. But we can all agree that the pond was our favorite view from the tent. We enjoyed skipping rocks and a quiet morning cup of coffee, quite different (in the best way) than a NYC morning that we were used to. Throughout the day, we watched the clouds roll in and was worried that the rain would ruin our camping experience. But we found it to be the opposite in fact. Sheltered under the tent provided, we passed the time playing cards and laughing the night away.

“Wow, really beautiful site. You can tell instantly the effort, care, and attention Andrew spent in preparing the area.
The grounds are meticulously manicured. Wildflowers, bird house, big stone fireplace, stone tables for drinks while sitting by the fire. West facing for the sunset light over the big pond. We didnt swim, but you could easily and safely. I hear you can drop a line for the fish that bop around. Tent was super clean and well maintained. Obviously the bathhouse with flushing toilet, farm sink, outdoor shower. HOT water with great pressure. Charging plugs....mini fridge...ice maker.
We love rough camping.....but it is really nice to treat yourself after a long dusty hike!
We are a couple. But would be really perfect if you had young kids...lots of room to run around, play ball, or ride scooters. Clear open ground, without any tall grass where ticks might reside. A lovely side field if you needed for a second couple that wanted privacy with easy access to the rest of camp.
We ate at Tulip and Rose in Franklin...20 mins away. Delicous modern and global cusine in an unexpected spot of the world.

“great place. loved the toilet with plumbing and a fridge was such a welcome addition. there is wood with a little donation bucket which is also super handy. the pond was lovely and cool although a little intimidating for us city folk. keep expecting an eel to swim up my shorts, sadly nothing that big has never been in my shorts.

“The Back 40 was a camping dream come true for us. We were a group of 5 and were looking for a private campsite WITH a bathroom. What we got at The BACK 40 was more than we could have asked for. The location and site itself are much more beautiful than the pictures (we are sharing our photos with Andrew!). We used the big white tent you see in the pictures (Tip: be sure to use the air pump in the side tables to pump up the air mattresses) and we also used the additional dome tent and carried our own sleeping bags. Andrew and his family are wonderful and have gone above and beyond to make the site clean, safe, easy to use and enjoy and for folks like me - the bathroom and shower just seals the deal ! The town of Walton is 7miles away and the supermarket in town is so well stocked and has everything you need. We also made a trip to East Sidney Dam and enjoyed a swim in the lake ! Please do tip Andrew's wonderful nephews for the firewood they bring and help stock up for you. We are already recommending this to all our family and friends. Enjoy !”
“This is perfect for easy setup and no hassle camping! We met Andy shortly after arriving and had a nice conversation! The pond is amazing and very clean. There was plenty of sun and shade for whichever you prefer. The bathhouse was a definite bonus and very convenient!! We will definitely be returning. Thank you!”
“Wonderful experience at the back 40! We loved the camp site and all it’s awesome amenities :) It was super private yet easy to access the road when we went into town. Andrew was beyond accommodating! Our weather wasn’t the best so we’re definitely going to have to book another trip to enjoy all of the perks this site offers! PS I personally love having no service on these get seats but just know you won’t have cell service at the actual camp site :) we highly recommended the back 40!”
