“Pros: The bed is really comfortable, the location of the camp is great and the tent itself is large.
Cons: The toilet situation is unacceptable. We had been camping in Santa Cruz, so we had our own toilet. The one provided us was directly in the sun and it got invaded by dozens of flies and it smelled horrible. My husband had used it once; we cleaned it out and used our own.
A picnic table is provided, but it is in the afternoon sun that is extremely uncomfortable; there is NO shelter. My husband sat in the car with the windows down, and I laid on the bed waiting for the sun to go down. This particular situation could be rectified if they covered the table with some kind of pop up, or better yet, a solid wood cover. There is a breeze that blows, but the 2-6 pm sun is too uncomfortable.
The description of the camp says 8 people; I’d say no more than 4, and I think if they aren’t children, the rocking above the lower bed would keep you awake.”
Hey there Monica, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. I've gotten in touch with the host at this site since the posting of your review. We talked about him putting in a structure to block the sun over the campsite during the hottest parts of the day. We also talked about the number of campers being reduced. All these things are in the works, and wouldn't be without your review, so thank you. We appreciate the honesty, and can't wait to see you out camping again soon!
Cheers!

“Great tent! The shower was kinda difficult to get wet in. Other than that it was so pretty to wake up and see the views! There’s also no plugs in the bathroom and the location is tough to get to. Overall great stay, though!”
“1st of all I feel it necessary to say this site had a great view and the potential to be a very cool place. Unfortunately we had selected it based on the amenities listed hoping for a glamping weekend. We enjoy backpacking and regular camping but had planned (and paid) for a more catered site. The listing includes a solar shower and a propane heater. The site lacked both and the person/host was not available to provide. In fact we could not get in touch with them at all. Had we been able to get in touch with them and resolve these issues the review would be different, unfortunately as it was it felt like we did not have of what we had paid for and intended.
On top of that it said in the ad that there was a toilet of sorts. While we are fine roughing it the setup provided a host of problems. For one thing it was essentially a Box with a toilet seat on top of a bucket with a bag. Had the bucket been a little larger or deeper - no problem. It is very shallow (no more than 12-16 in) which provides for very unsanitary situations, especially for women. For 3 people for 2 days it was beyond cramped (we couldn’t stand up fully) and felt as though the depths did not account for what it needed to (we eventually had to go to the nearest public restrooms to relieve ourselves).. the pop up tent provided for privacy was torn and broken therefore providing no option for privacy at all. And Luckily we brought our own toilet paper but we're surprised to find they had supplied none and grateful that we had.
While the site has a lot of potential the problems that arose will prevent us from revisiting again in the future.”

“This place was a great getaway from the city life. Damon was excited host. Very responsive and quick to get back to you. The place was clean and private. I definitely recommend friends or anyone who want a small getaway glamping for a couple days.”
“What a beautiful spot. We had a great time up there with our 2, 6 and 8 year old kids. The highlight for our kids were definitely the goats that we got to play with inside their pasture, for us adults it was the view and the beauty of this place, being outdoors, spending time together. Damon and his family are very friendly and allowed us to hang out with the animals as often as we wanted. The loft bed was great and really comfortable - just make sure to bring warm sleeping bags and/or blankets. Everything was clean and we had what we needed as we like it simple. We climbed rocks around the campsite, collected wood for the fire, played hide and seek, played with the goats, watched the pigs and the chicken and at night we sat by the fire and made S'mores and had nice conversations. We visited the petrified forest (https://www.petrifiedforest.org/) which is 7 min from here and visited friends in Santa Rosa that has lots of parks and play grounds in which our kids played ball, ride bikes (we brought bikes, but knew that at the campsite they will not really be able to use them as it is very hilly and rocky) or explore. We will definitely come back.
We suggest to bring a large bucket of water to brush teeth, wash hands and for drinking. There was one at the site when we got there, but it was not enough for 4 days with 5 people + some visitors. But there is also a Lucky's 15 min from the campsite...”
