Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“We have stayed with Tenttr before but this was our favorite site! The location was excellent, it felt very secluded at the bottom of a hollow with a wonderful creek running alongside it. But if you forgot any snacks/ drinks/ etc it was an easy 15 min ride into Hancock where there is a grocery store and several gas stations for picking up supplies. The hosts were very communicative prior to our arrival which made planning a breeze. We also appreciated them setting up a campfire at the site for the night of our arrival as we were getting in a little later and the site can be a little confusing to find! In the purpose of helping people choose this site I have included below our highlights of the site as well as things to be aware of (not con's just helpful for planning).
Highlights
- comfy memory foam mattress in the tent (some use air mattresses which are horrible so this is a plus)
- creek running alongside the site: amazing for lulling you to sleep. Also would be excellent for taking a dip/cooling off in the summer
-outhouse: has the usual tentr loo bags but they built a nice smooth wooden toilet seat etc. There is running water at the outhouse for washing hands
- lots of chairs and two tables provided at the site! Great for larger parties for eating and playing games
-Site can accommodate one other larger tent for groups. Could likely fit 2 smaller backpacking style tents if you wanted to fit more pople in
-really helpful hosts who set up a fire for you ahead of time and don't make you take the all the trash out etc at the end of the trip!!
Things to note
- site is at the end of a very long, muddy road down a hill. The GPS will say you arrived when you reach a shooting club. You are not there. You need to keep driving all the way down the hill, over the creek, and keep going some more. Like really keep going much past where you think, you have to go all the way down the hill.
- There is no cell service once you get off 97 --> can be problematic when you realize the GPS is not right. Once you've "reached" the point that the GPS considers the site and is not, you will have lost cell service and can't contact the hosts. Thankfully they were going to the site to prep it for us and passed us on the road and we could follow them.
My recommendation from the two points above - don't arrive after dark or if you have to arrive after dark ask to meet the hosts in town and follow them in your car to the site. We are experienced campers and have arrived many places late at night and even I wouldn't have wanted to drive down the road in the dark.
Overall great site and you should definitely book it! We will be back for sure!”
“We will definitely be back. Not only is this the best camping spot for a weekend getaway, but Randy our host was super helpful. Our only regret was not getting the burgers because we got in so late.”
“Perfect spot for a weekend gateway with private space! Site setup is very convenient with fireplace, grill, toilet and shower tank. You probably don’t need to pack a lot except clothing and bedding and ofc food. Randall and Terry are super helpful and considerate. Highly recommend!”
“Like the name suggests… it’s a little bit of paradise in this very busy life. This was our first camping experience and it was Great! From meeting Randall and Cynthia, exploring the property to spending the evenings by the gushing waterfalls by the warm and toasty fire pit… was perfect. Randall made sure we had everything from an outhouse to handle your business”
“An absolute joy! Our host, Randy had everything we could need, including plenty of fire wood. I highly recommend Paradise Falls for a relaxing private respite.”
