This campsite is AMAZING. Where to start… 1/ Beautiful drive down to site on what must have been an old NYS DEC forest road 2/ Impeccable, incredibly private site situated on 100 acres with anything/everything you’d need to cook (if you forgot it) 3/ The sights + sounds of the multi-tier waterfalls are just beyond cool, and make for great background when falling to sleep at night 4/ Randy was an incredible, gracious host 5/ We WILL BE BACK

I cannot say enough good about this amazing site. We spent an outstanding weekend here with our 2 dogs and I can't wait to return. From sitting in the waterfall to falling asleep to the sounds of the running water, start to finish incredible. There was even running water and a nice loo house :-) Thank you so much Randall!! If you're undecided, look no further, this is the winner!

Our stay at Paradise Falls was fantastic! Despite an unexpectedly cold and rainy Memorial weekend, we still managed to have a great time. Randall was an excellent host, very accommodating and helpful. He went above and beyond to make our stay a good one, despite the bad weather. He met us on the main road and took us down a well maintained dirt road (you won’t need a four wheel drive on this one) to the site. There is no cell service past the main road so GPS won’t take you directly to the site, but it’s a straight drive off 97, and you’ll see the tent on the left. The site itself is beautiful, secluded and private in a clearing of tall trees with the rushing creek beside, and falls below. There’s a path down to the shallow part of the creek where you can dip your toes, and another that winds down to the deeper falls below. There you’ll find a flat stone patio, a remnant of the old grist mill, with a table and chairs all ready for morning coffee, or dinner beside the water. It was a little too cold when we visited, but this would be a perfect swimming hole to cool off and relax on a hot summer day. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there is a spacious mini cabin housing the “loo” a little way off from the tent, complete with a sink for hand washing. This was a real plus with six of us sharing it, and added just the right amount of “civilization”. We went into historic Callicoon, which had some cute stores and restaurants, and a farmers market on the weekend, and there are plenty of other small town nearby (including a Tops grocery store in Hancock) where you can get whatever you might need. We also got the farm raised beef hamburgers Randall offers and they were delicious. The real draw is the peaceful feeling you’ll get sitting around the fire, looking at the stars and listening to the sound of the falls. This site is well named, and really was a little piece of paradise. Highly recommended!
