Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Camp hosts were friendly and welcoming. Picture perfect riverside site. I enjoyed sitting on the adirondack chairs (on the tent platform) and watching the river while drinking my morning coffee. So peaceful and relaxing! The site itself is private, well maintained and well stocked with supplies. This was my first TentRR experience. As a life long camper, I love the concept! My husband and I were traveling for several weeks and none of our other travel plans included camping, so it was awesome to have the camping experience without having to bring all the gear.I hope to make it back there someday, I can't even imagine how beautiful it is in the fall.”
“Beautiful area! The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Will definitely go again!”
“Awesome campsite in a great location. We were able to easily access two awesome hikes in the area Humpback Rock (day 1) & Chimney Rock (day 2). We loved the campfire area was well stocked and we cooked breakfast and dinner each day we were there. The river was fun and the tubes were a nice addition. Amenities are as noted on Tentrr. As a reminder, you need to bring towels, soap/shampoo, bug spray, sunscreen, plates/cutlery (forks, spoons, knives), but otherwise, everything was there that we needed. They had two skillets, a big spoon to stir/dish out food. S'mores were an obvious hit and there were plenty of sticks to use for the kids to cook their own. Owners are really attentive and easy to communicate with. The farm that the campsite is on is very well maintained . Highly recommend. We will be back!”
“Our family had a great stay at Honeysuckle Hideaway. James and his family were excellent hosts, and we thoroughly enjoyed their lovely property. Our site was spacious, supplied with all that we needed and beautifully located on the river. (The river is great for tubing!) We hope to return again soon!”
“We loved everything about Honeysuckle Hideaway! The kids enjoyed fishing, floating down the river and exploring. The host had plenty of firewood ready to go, camping lights and even supplied extra loo bags for us. We loved our trip so much that we booked another trip in a couple of weeks. We cannot boast on this place enough, can't wait to go back!”
“My wife and I needed a getaway very badly for 4 days. My wife found this site thankfully. This was our first time glamping and loved it. The seclusion of the site was exactly what we desired. The site is very large, with the river front view and wade in area. It has a nice open area with an amazing canopy of trees keeping the sun off of the majority of the site. We had a canopy, which I would recommend to set up over the cooking table. The eating table is nestled under the tress and is quite pleasant. The essentials are there on site; chairs around the fire pit, propane cooking stove, coffee pot, basic cooking utensils (spatula and cooking fork), salt and pepper, many extremely thoughtful things included. Inner tubes are under the tent platform that we tied to a tree and relaxed floating on the river. Firewood is provided for campfire pit and wood stove (includes kindling, lighter fluid, and long stem lighters). If you are avid camp fire folks such as we are, a hatchet or axe came in handy. The cooking grate over the fire pit worked beautifully for cooking many meals I fished, but did not catch anything which did not matter to me as it was enjoyable being on the river.
.
The tent is a very sturdy structure. Inside there is bedding, blankets, camp lights, and toiletries for the Loo. The bed sleeps very well, is a sturdy platform and cozy mattress. My wife appreciated the loo immensely compared to primitive tent camping. The wood-stove inside the tent ensures we will return in the late fall for the change of leaves and brisk weather.
The owners are salt of the earth. Extremely kind people who provide amazing hospitality. 24 hour call assistance is provided, we only called for more fire wood. The site is on a working farm that is managed, clean, cozy and extremely pleasant, no loud noises.”
“We spent two days here and had a wonderful experience. The owners met us and took us to the property and showed us around. They made it clear that they were available if needed and had thought of everything we might have not remembered. We had just purchased groceries and asked about the closest spot to get ice which they shared and later brought us some to get started. We enjoyed the river, caught a few small fish, and saw three huge trout that had zero interest in what we had to offer. This spot is quiet, spacious, and relaxing. The Grand Caverns nearby were amazing, and Staunton is a lovely town with restaurants, shops, breweries, and wineries. Skyline Drive is also nearby. The owners actually have two Tentrr sites. We have booked both with family and plan to tube on the river between them next time we go. Highly recommend!”
