My girlfriend and I stayed at Sleigh Hill Farm in November 2022 along with our dog mango. The site was incredible, located on a peninsula of land overlooking a pond. John was extremely responsive and the campsite was everything we hoped to be. We also stopped by Caret Winery and had a 1 on 1 tasting experience hosted by the owner of the winery. Quaint, quiet, beautiful, and very tasty wine! We are already planning our next stay here.

Wow! Just Wow! We had a perfect weekend. My family of four had an incredible and mush needed weekend away. Even though the weather was R&R (rays and raindrops) it could not have been any better. The heater was so warm and toasty, the farm fresh organic eggs were HUGH! The floating pier/dock jiffy was just simple enough to enjoy the pond. We had geese neighbors that provided us entertainment, especially for our little ones. It was so great. I have not stopped talking about this weekend and have recommended it to so many people. Just be sure to bring the necessities to cook and sleep. Be sure to walk up to the winery and take in the simple and peaceful surroundings. Stop by at the 17 South Restaurant and get the fried oysters! Cell services was perfect, but honestly it’s the perfect place to unplug. Thank you John and Holli! We will absolutely back!!

What a great place to unwind. The spot is situated on such a cool little peninsula, really a unique location. Charmed by the frogs and the woodpeckers. Also there is a resident group of white geese that provide some unplugged entertainment across the water, so that was pretty cool too. Would recommend for sure!

It was just as described and exactly what we were looking forward to! The hosts were absolutely amazing and answered any questions we had. If you are looking for a very quiet spot away from everyone this is the spot for you.

Had a great long weekend at Sliegh hill. John was responsive and had fresh eggs and fresh veggies from his garden when we arrived. The dogs loved running around the property and the winery was a bonus. The town is about 10 min away and the wildlife refuge is a nice hike. Overall it was a nice relaxing weekend. Very hot but the tent is in the shade which helped!

Just book it. We arrived late Friday night and John ensured we found the campsite with relative ease. Waking up the next morning was one of the best surprises I’ve ever had. The location is stunning with a pond and the surrounding woods all to yourself. We fished from the dock, swam in the pond, visited the adorable winery next door, and relaxed. It was one of the best weekends I’ve ever had. John came by to say hello and stayed to chat with us. You can tell instantly he doesn’t do it for the money and really just wants to share this beautiful piece of his land with people. The craziest thing. There are no mosquitoes. We didn’t have to spray any bug spray for the three days we were there. Apparently he stocks the pond with a specific kind of fish that eat the larvae. I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you want a relaxing and calming getaway book this place now. We will 100% be back, hopefully soon. Also make sure to visit the town of Tappahannock just past the camp site.

If you want to camp not too far away from town, but still be secluded, then this is the place. I also like how we had the whole pond and campsite to ourselves. It’s not a typical camping spot where you have neighbors 20ft away from you camping too. And get a spot while you can, they only have one camping site at the moment. They have 4 more future campsite being built, but they are no where near where you will be camping. We all have plenty of space.
