This was a wonderful place to get out of town for a few days. The tent and amenities are located on a private peninsula that is surrounded by beautiful trees and water. It was easy to find and also in very walkable distance from the nearby winery, which was definitely a plus! We cooked our farm fresh eggs each morning--delicious. Beautiful sunrise, great scenery, and a nice place to escape that is still close to civilization if you need it. Communication with John, our campkeeper, was very easy--he was responsive and let us know everything we needed to know. He also made sure we got to the site okay since we were arriving in the dark. My only suggestion for the site would be to maybe place the firepit on the same side as the pantry/picnic table area or perhaps an additional firepit could be added on that side. It would be nice to be able to cook on that side of the tent and perhaps be able to have a fire near the tent as well, looking out onto the lake. Great stay--can't wait to go back!

Our weekend at Sleigh Hill Farm was great! The set-up was awesome, and its spot at the edge of the pond was really nice and secluded. Everything was well-marked, and John was super responsive throughout the entire process (even reaching out to make sure we arrived since he knew we'd be getting there after dark). Proximity to Caret Winery was a big plus, it was an easy 5 minute walk and he knew we were staying at the site across the street and offered the 10% discount without us needing to ask. All-around great spot, great host, great weekend. Would recommend!

We had a great time with our two dogs at Sleigh Hill Farm! So cozy and relaxing even in the rain! Even better to have the winery and welcoming owner right across the road! Definitely looking forward to going back.

A beautiful respite! Very private space with a cute pond. Highly recommend renting the floating pier, really elevates the stay. John and Hollie were so positively communicative and they maintain an excellent site.

Sleigh Hill Farm was a great city get away. The site is on a slope overlooking a pond- take advantage of the “extras” and definitely rent the floating dock - nice for a few drinks on the water as the sun goes down. Owners John & Hollie were awesome and very quick to respond and offer tips for the area etc. A no frills winery is located within walking distance of camp... so once you park you can put your keys away for the rest of the time. Had a relaxing break and will be back!

My boyfriend, our pup, and I were looking for a close by place to camp for a night and came across this place. We arrived and the host had cute little pumpkins that made the place feel welcoming. They also had a cute chalk board sign in the tent and cute lights up that made the tent feel homey. The tent and the area was cleaned and maintained. It was absolutely beautiful with the winery there and the water around the tent. It was peaceful and it felt like we were far away from everyone. We had a great time fishing, roasting hot dogs & smores, and just relaxing. The host came down and met us and was a very nice guy. He even brought us a bundle of wood and went out of his way to talk to us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend visiting this site. We will definitely be back!!!

That part of rural Virginia is underrated! The property owners are educated professionals and down-home hospitable at the same time... there are some really great local spots to eat, go antiquing, fish, walk... the winery is within walking distance of the site & is another great local small business. You will see wildlife if you try. It was cool & rained some, the shelter was brand new and spotless. Highly recommend. Will go again.

This was our first Tentrr experience. Tents are fabulous. The bed very comfortable. I assumed we would want the toilet in its own quarters but with the rain and privacy not an issue, it worked out better being in the main tent. I changed the bags whenever the smell became noticeable. Contact free experience and hosts very good about text communications. The wood and eggs we had ordered had been delivered to our campsite prior to our arrival which was nice but the wood was left in the rain. I’m unsure it would have made any difference as the log pile is uncovered and was soaked through so the wood was unusable during our stay. I’m glad we hadn’t counted on cooking breakfast as well as dinner over the fire as it would have been all that more disappointing. Path down to the campsite quite muddy from all the rain so hosts recommended parking at the winery which did double the distance from our vehicle to campsite. Not a long walk in but doing so repeatedly on sloped muddy terrain transporting all of our supplies to our campsite was less than ideal. A water cooler and solar shower were available in the tent but water was up at the barn and I would not have been physically able to get it back from barn so relied on our water bottles while we were there and filled them up when we finally made it up to the barn at our departure to dispose of the garbage. The campsite is on a little peninsula with water on three sides so a serene view. We spotted turtles on a log several times. A small dock would have made the water more useable.
