“Very nice campsite, right on Harrisburg Lake with a firepit overlooking the water. Extremely secluded, cannot see any houses or roads from the site or across the lake. Quiet at the end of an 11 mile dead-end road.
A 5-minute walk further down the road reveals a nearby lodge and camp run by a very friendly staff that is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner if needed. They also have a wonderful bar that stays open late. And a huge plus, the bar is dog friendly! We enjoyed two nights at this bar before walking back to our tent.
Denise was gracious enough to let us use her private beach to launch our canoe into the lake and enjoy the day on the water. Lost of beavers, turtles and a bald eagle's nest can be seen!
Easy enough to get in and out of town, about a 20 minute drive into Warrensburg for gas, groceries etc.
The site is not a total drive in site, so you'll be lugging your stuff about 50 yards or so down the hill to the campsite from the road. But it's nice to get away from your car as well.
We brought our dog, who loved the site and ability to just swim right from the camp.”
“This was our first time using Tentrr and we really enjoyed it. The campsite was tucked away in this little cove that was so peaceful. Denise and Patrick have the site outfitted with plenty of wood, lots of kitchen items, binoculars and even two drink tickets for the Lodge at Harrisburg Lake which is right up the street. On Denise and Patrick's recommendation, we actually had breakfast at the Lodge one morning. The pancakes and bacon were amazing! There's not many places that you can camp, and enjoy a breakfast spread like that. Best of both worlds...I'd highly recommend Whispering Pines.”
