“I visited Hucklebuck together with friends around a year ago already. the place was nice. it's nice to have a trail heading to the river. :D the river was refreshing, bring floatie when visiting. the host were also bery attentive and went above and beyond.”
“Couldn’t have been better! Beautiful, peaceful, isolated, more than well equipped. Paula actually moved me to the East site which has direct river access since she knew I would be fishing. My first Tentrr experience—won’t be the last—and this one is very hard to top.”
“It’s hard to imagine improving on my first Tentrr experience…Paula and Bill’s Hucklebuck spot was first rate in every way. Paula knew that I wanted to fish, so she very kindly switched me to the East site which has direct water access. The site itself was outfitted generously, and for once I came over prepared with gear. Bill have me great fishing tips and the river was absolutely gorgeous. After a day on the water, making a fire was a breeze and I slept soundly on the comfortable bed with the wood burning stove nearby to keep the chill away. This is a perfect camp experience for anyone—families, couples, or solo (like me). Thanks, Paula and Bill—I’ll be back if you’ll have me!”
“We had an amazing time at this site. The campkeeper Paula and her husband were extremely helpful and communicative and provided everything that we needed. They were there to greet us and show us around the site for a little tour of all the accommodations. We had beautiful weather and basically everything you could ever need at the site for a successful and easy camping journey, hardly had to bring any gear at all. Highly recommend!”
“Staying at the Hucklebuck Railway Camp was an absolute treat. It more than exceeded our expectations and was so well set up that we didn't have to worry about anything. This site is located on the owners property which is a staggering 160 acres and is completely surrounded by trees and is a very short walk to the river. The site is off of a private road and has complete privacy. You can tell that Paula and her husband put a lot of care and love into this site. The outhouse, dining table, and sink set up made the entire experience much more enjoyable and they had set up the tarps and the fire pit so strategically that when it rained briefly, we were completely dry, as was our fire.
I highly recommend this rental. I usually don't like staying in the same place twice as I love to try new experiences, but I would absolutely come back and stay at the Hucklebuck Railway Camp.”
“Great place to hike, fish and relax. The site was completely private with everything there that you needed. Bill & Paula were so great at getting back to us if we needed anything. They stocked the site with plenty of wood for a chilly weekend. Thank you for a great weekend, we will see you next fall!”
“This was mine and my five year old son’s second visit to Paula and Bill’s camp in the forest. As great as before with everything you need to get as far away from “it all” as you wish. We caught frogs in the waterfall, made dams in the stream, spotted a couple of harmless but exciting Garnet snakes, even inadvertently caught and released some baby rainbow trout in a crayfish trap Bill lent us. The site is ideally placed for those who want quiet seclusion and there are lovely mown grass paths to walk or marked wooded trails, nothing to strenuous. We came off camp to pick apples and blackberries at nearby Greig’s Farm and also bought some steaks from Northwind Farm. The ground was pretty wet when we visited and were fortunate to be able to get our front wheel SUV up to site but even if you have to park on the track it’s less than 100m to the camp. I hope we will be back again, especially after hearing that Coleman have given some new camping gear to the other campsite on Hucklebuck Railway Camp. Thanks for being great hosts, for the lend of a charging cable and for tips on finding and eating Hickory nuts.”
“The place was very nice! It's well kept. they have almost everything you needed. well equipped with water and firewoods without extra pay. Campekeeper Bill and Paula will respond to your need immediately. Other than that, the river was magnificent. it would have been nice if we brought a tube with us. Nonetheless, it was still a fun stay.”
