This site is really excellent -- beautifully secluded and next to a terrific river for swimming. Paula is a wonderful host who went out of her way to be helpful to us on our recent stay. Highly recommend this destination.

We had a great trip at the Hucklebuck Railway Camp. There was plenty of room for us four adults and two children under five. The site was set up wonderfully with a canopy over the kitchen/dining area and another one over the extra tent. The river was flooded so we had to drive to another area on the property to swim/wade, but it was still great - we spent a few hours sitting in our chairs in the shallow part. Looking forward to coming back sometime!

My friends and I had a great stay at Hucklebuck Railway Camp during a mini weekend getaway. The campsite is secluded in Bill and Paula's private property, and Bill assured us that if we ever did need help, him and his neighbors are all easily accessible. The site itself is tidy and clean and included a campfire pit, charcoal grill, grilling utensils, pots/pans, lanterns/flashlights, water and a sink, bug spray, maps, and various items left by previous guests that we were welcomed to use. They have several trails along their property but unfortunately it had rained before we arrived so the river had flooded (bummer, because we specifically wanted a riverside site). There was a wood fire heater in the tent that made it super warm and cozy inside; however, the heat went out in a few hours and we all woke up shivering in the cold! We also heard coyotes in the woods (which Bill had warned us about), but it all added to the "camping" experience! Bill was also kind enough to let us check out late so we were able to grill up a delicious lunch before our long journey back home. Overall, we loved the location of the site and would love to come back! Hopefully during the warmer months and when the river is not flooded.

Paula and her husband were wonderful hosts. They have plenty of extra amenities (cooking gear, firewood, extra chairs, a tarp cover in case it rains, a makeshift sink, cooler, charcoal grill, lanterns, etc). Check with them before packing as they may have what you need! They had everything set up and were waiting for us when we arrived. Very helpful on giving tips for areas to fish. They were very responsive when we got our car stuck in the mud and help tow us out with their tractor. Also very responsive when we needed more waste bags. We went with a bigger group (6 people) so my only suggestion would be to provide some more of those ahead of time. Overall it was a great experience. We went in early October and the foliage was beautiful. Plenty of hiking trails and fishing spots nearby. We are looking forward to staying here again-maybe next time in the summer so we can swim in the beautiful creek!

This was our first Tentrr experience, and this site was by far the best of all the other places we were considering staying. Paula & Bill were very responsive, and they were kind enough to bring us an extra cooler to store our food and set up the firewood and stove inside the tent to make things easier for us. There were no add-on charges like most of the other sites, so we liked the fact that everything was pretty much included. The site had lovely hiking trails and a beautiful stream, which we would have swam in if weren't so cold! We would highly recommend this site to others--it's a gem of a place that's secluded with lovely views. We plan to go back in the spring/summer!

This site is fantastic. All of the space and privacy you could want while still featuring easy access for re-supply and entertainment excursions. The hosts, Bill and Paula, are kind, helpful, and above-and-beyond accommodating. They gave us insider local tips while checking in, had an impressively-maintained campsite, and left us as alone as we wanted to be to enjoy our stay. The campsite itself is off of an unpaved former logging road. It's a small uphill walk - enough to pleasantly remind you that you're "roughing it" in the woods. We easily fit 4 cars in the parking area by the short path to the site. There are miles of old logging paths to explore on the adjacent land - all owned and expertly cared for by site-runner Bill. A map of them is even provided in the tent! You're guaranteed to see some deer or find some berries if you know where/when to look. Plus there is a beautifully fresh creek right nearby and you may discover the best places to have a swim, catch some fish, or get dropped in and float right back down to the campsite! We hardly explored 1/10th of what this site has to offer. While you can easily pop out for an offsite hike or brewery/antiquing trip, it's just as easy to sit back and enjoy the beauty and seclusion here.
