“Serenity, by definition, this is it. I will be back. Nobody around, tons of wildlife, easy to get to, very few mosquitos (due to the gentle breeze when I was there), tons of fish, and a whole lot of self reflection. IT'S RIGHT ON THE LAKE.
At first I was thinking the price is a bit high but the value will materialize once you are there. Canoes, firewood, fire-starters, a fire pit with a grate, emergency packet, tons (many gallons) of delicious well water (KEY!), elevated platform, and lanterns.
Note: the poop bag is not a big deal. If you are comfortable with your own body then this is a non-thing. Just tie the bag up per the camp directions and you're good.
Tip: Bring a solar powered battery cell.”
“This site was everything and more we could have asked for. Totally private, in 3 days we saw nobody. Camp was overly well stocked from the kayaks, canoe, plenty of firewood with fire starters, small propane tanks for a camp stove if you have one, plenty of battery lanterns. Would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway”
“While we usually camp in state or national parks, Covid closings of DEC campgrounds and crowds at other natural places have forced us to change our plans this summer. We wanted to socially distance camp with friends of our who’d never camped before, so glamping seemed the way to go.
Serenity Grove was just lovely. We had the lake to ourselves, with the occasional sound of distant voices from the house 1/2 mile away drifting over once or twice. The campsite was clean, and had everything we needed. We didn’t even have to set up our tent—there was one already up and waiting for us. Wood, propane, water, bug spray and cleaning products were all waiting for us. We just needed food, cookware, utensils, hammocks and camp chairs to have the perfect weekend.
The kayaks were wonderful to jump in when you felt the urge, and the lake was the warmest body of natural water I’ve swum in in years.
Communication with the manager was excellent. We felt informed and left alone—perfect.
While the price was high ($440 for 4 people for two nights), given the present circumstances and our desire to “get away from It all”, it was worth the splurge over a $20 state campsite.”
“We had an amazing time at Serenity Grove- you cannot beat the lakefront site with the use of canoes and kayaks, we were out on the water everyday fishing and swimming. We even brought our own float to tie up to the kayak and relax. There was a lot more at the campsite than expected, dura flames, charcoal grill with lighter fluid, several lanterns, toilet paper! We really enjoyed our experience and would love to come back!”
“We had a BEST time at Serenity Grove. This is the perfect getaway from the busy city. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The use of the canoe and kayak is a must at sunset. The property is very well maintained, we swam in the lake and hiked the trials right from our tent.
I have HIGHLY recommend this location to all our friends already. You wont find another perfect private waterfront location this close to the city.....trust me!!
Thanks to you and the team, our weekend trip was memorable. You will definitely be seeing us again this summer. Be well.”
“Now this is our idea of "Social Distancing". Absolutely beautiful campsite that was setup upon our arrival and completely secluded on a gorgeous lake. We were well stocked with firewood, charcoal & water, plus had access to a canoe & kayak. Lots of wildlife & a completely relaxing weekend with our pups! We will definitely be back!”
“Perfect weekend. We really only had to pack our clothes and food, there was so much already at the site that helped our trip. Verna was an excellent host and their property offered much to keep us entertained. We will definitely be going back”
“We could not have had a better last minute getaway. The site had everything we needed and then some, it was hard to leave! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful land with us!”
