“We highly recommend this site. The site itself was beautiful. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Loved the bed which was perfect and took camping to a new level!. The kayaks and canoe were great to explore the river and small island directly across from our site. We saw bald eagles and big turtles. John and his wife were very friendly and helpful! “We had one of our best camping experiences ever at Slippery Rock River Retreat! It really is a private oasis. The bed is a REAL queen bed (not a blow-up mattress). The owners also upgraded the "loo" by building a separate outhouse which was appreciated. The hammock and Adirondack chairs were very comfortable for hanging by the campfire. The picnic table and benches made cooking a breeze. We opted to add on the cooking package so we had access to the stove. We also rented kayaks which were amazing. The river has no current so it's a very comfortable paddle. Ask John to tell you about the history of the land - it is clearly a labor of love and there is so much to enjoy on property. A perfect glamping experience and we can't wait to come back! Highly recommended ***** 5-stars :)”

“John was a wonderful host. Picture a land steward crossed with your grandfather and throw in a dash of Maine wisdom. He loves the land and the property and will give you all the information you need. The property was gorgeous: eagles, loons, barred owls caterwauling at night. Explore the evidence of beavers shaping the shoreline. Kingfishers, super chattery and ruling the water, constant companions as you fish for small mouth bass and little pointy perch. We loved it and felt super comfortable there. The only thing we missed was not being able to have a small fire in the wood stove inside the tent due to the fact it was sooooo warm that weekend. Highly recommend.”
“I cant say enough great things about the site, as well as John and Karin who greeted us. We came for a night of our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. The site was the most beautiful out of many tentrrs I have been to. The real mattress was such a good surprise, kayaking on the river was beautiful, and the seclusion and nature was stunning. John and Karin were very helpful and friendly and explained the campsite and their area very well. Plenty of firewood for us, and john built a nice outhouse for the tentrr loo. The site was in perfect condition and they had plenty of lanterns!
