“The drive alone is worth the trip! There is a beautiful lake on site, and lots of places to hike and explore. That being said, I would not return to this site, but would definitely recommend the area itself for the following reasons:
1. You are not going to be able to park close to the site unless you have a truck or 4WD vehicle.
2. The lake is a bit of a walk with the campkeepers home in between. Would definitely prefered to have set up camp closer as the lake, as it was really lovely. However the lake was SO small and we were charged $40 for the boats that we're almost as long as the lake. (which we saw no point in using)
3. The loo had a large hole with tons of dead bugs (I get it, we're outside but it seemed as though the site had not been tended to in a while)
4. The front deck was screened underneath, but the tent itself had no screening underneath. I have never left camping with as many bug bites as I have this weekend. We had to plug the corners of the tent with towels to keep the bugs from coming in. (I'm talking hundreds of bugs)
That being said, the veiw was beautiful (like really out of a picture) and our campkeeper allowed us to use his propane grill (which was honestly a life saver).”
“This was our second stay at Eagle Mountain Eyrie. We did a winter camping trip in February and wanted to follow it up with a spring trip. The trees had fresh green leaves, the sky was deep blue and the weather was perfect. We even got to go for a spin around the lake and took a quick swim to cool off. Amazing hospitality by the host Vince. He could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommended!”
“We had a winter glamping adventure of a lifetime. Vince was super gracious and had water, wood and everything setup for our arrival. We hiked all over, did the best sledding of our lives and enjoyed the tranquility and calm of the most majestic view in the Catskills. The wood stove was enough to keep the chill out even when it dipped to 19° one night. It was epic!”
“This campsite is everything it looks like in the pictures. We were lucky enough to go up there when the leaves were changing over and the views and sunsets were amazing during the day and at night he sky was lit up with stars and the moon was so bright that we were able to see without flashlights really. The campsite had cast iron pots and pans, spatchulas, sponges, fire proof gloves, trash cans, fire wood and a large water jug. We were pleasantly surprised to see all the additional items that were included with the site and would definitely come back again and are already recommending it to friends. 5 stars!!”
“This site is beautiful! Vince had everything we needed - blankets, sleeping bags, grilling utensils, and he even brought over more firewood, kindling, citronella and a lantern. The woods surrounding the campsite were lovely and the whole place was secluded and serene. Would highly recommend, especially during the fall!”
“We loved our stay here. Everything was exactly as expected. The pond was so much fun with the canoe and kayaks. Vince was very nice and very helpful (our van couldn’t make it up the hill directly to the camp site, you need a 4 wheeler, so he let us load his truck with all our stuff and drive it up for as. And down as well at departure day. )”
“Camp is situated on a private part of the property, with beautiful views. The entire farm is immaculate with great views at every turn. Many areas to explore, and the pond was crystal clear for swimming! The hosts are amazing, with personalized hospitality, very gracious and kind. A wonderful place to experience.”
“We had an excellent experience. Quiet and isolated and lovely view. Everyone was super helpful and kind and helped make this a wonderful all around experience. I'd come back”
