Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Wow. This was our first tentrr experience and I couldn’t have asked for better. The site is so private and beautiful, it may have ruined regular camping forever. Perfectly situated, You could hike, swim and explore without even looking at your car. Max was there at check-in and gave me the rundown. He was available and helpful when I had questions.
I had my 8 year old son with me, we hiked to the stone thrones, played at roaring kills falls, saw deer outside our tent and played about a thousand rounds of UNO. Really a fun experience, we will be back!”
“We had an amazing time last weekend up at High Peak Meadows. My girlfriend and I brought our dog up there for Friday evening, Saturday day/evening and then left Sunday. Everything was as advertised, including Max being a very kind, thoughtful and caring host.
You'll definitely need an SUV to reach the site - there are two creeks you'll need to drive through/over which were roughly 2inches - 10 inches deep depending on day/time/rain. The site itself is placed at the back of an open meadow, totally secluded. We drove in and 4 deer were in the field - awesome.
Tannersville is only about 12-15 minutes away - good for gas, groceries, outdoors gears, hot coffee, etc. We had weather in the 40s/50s which got chilly in the evening - and you'll need to continuously put wood in the fire to stay warm.
Great trails immediately nearby - we walked up the trail to Roaring Kill and then the other trails and took it up to Pecoy Notch.
HIGHLY recommend this. My girlfriend and I are low 30s, work in the city and live in Hoboken. Our dog is a Bernese mix who loved the outside and running around.
Again, highly recommend - we're already thinking of our next trip. If you're visiting the Catskills through Tentrr - stay at High Peak Meadows. Max and the site were both great.”
“We had an absolutely fabulous time at High Peak Meadows! Unfortunately, we had a flat tire as soon as we arrived at camp so we had to drive into town, at which point the tire went completely flat and we had to get a tow and stay at a motel in town. We were SO bummed to have to miss our first night - but the host send us a super sweet email saying that if he had been in town he would have helped us out so we could have stayed at the site... it was such a nice touch to know we were at a place where the host truly cares about our experience. We ate an an INCREDIBLE restaurant in Tannersville called Jessie's Harves House. The next day we made it to came and were just blown away by the views. We hiked Sugarloaf mountain which took about 4.5 hours and was a great trail for avid hikers such as ourselves. We cooked a great dinner over the fire, loved the view, enjoyed the ease of having the tent and equipment all available, and just had an all around amazing time. We would definitely return again and HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a remove, beautiful, but easy weekend away enjoying nature.”
“For a first time TENTRR experience, this location ROCKS! The adventure of driving through a couple of creeks and little fields into the campsite was epic. Just make sure to have a 4WD/AWD vehicle that has enough ground clearance when crossing the creek. We had arrived just a couple of days after the rain, which was why the water levels were high when we crossed over. Only my vehicle (Ford Edge) was able to cross, which meant I had to taxi over the other families/supplies. This became part of the adventure and experience. It should be noted that Max was out of town, else I believe he would've been able to help bring the families/supplies over via tractor :)
The private trail leading into Roaring Kill Waterfalls was a nice bonus! As a group we would all come back to this site again!!”
“Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to meet Max in person; but his reputation as being super awesome is in fact true. His communication throughout this entire trip was beyond my expectations and we are happy he was our first Tentrr experience. We found everything we were looking for all in one location: beauty, solace and absolute privacy. In addition to the wide open space, there is the most enchanting forest right behind your campsite. We hiked daily and swam in the waterfalls just a short hike away. Deer, butterflies and chipmunks greeted us daily. If you need supplies a supermarket is about an 8 min drive once you hit the main road. We are fortunate enough to have an SUV so driving over the streams was cake for us, but our friend had a honda civic and even though he moved at a snail's pace had no issues crossing himself. It was the perfect ending to our summer and it was a very sad day for all of us when it was time to pack up and head back to the city. If you are seeking to connect with nature in a way you haven't in a very long time - this is the spot for you.”
“Amazing! We loved it here! Max's place is very secluded and private. The view is stunning. My favorite thing is that you can hear the stream from the tent so you have this beautiful background noise. We saw deer, heron, ducks, hawks and all kinds of butterflies. You can really relax here and feel away from it all. It was perfect after a stressful few months in the city. Also, stunningly, we did not find a single tick on ourselves or on our two dogs. For anyone who's done any hiking this year, you know this is truly remarkable. There are some mosquitoes but we didn't find them particularly bothersome not like some other places we've stayed. Bug spray did the trick. One important tip, definitely get a 4WD SUV. We rented a Nissan Rogue SUV and we were a little nervous going across the stream. I think more ground clearance and 4WD will be better for next time. It's a little adventure getting to the site but SO worth it!! We can't wait to go back!!! Beautiful!”
