“Not only is the Old Game Farm one of the most interesting and unique camping experiences around, the CampKeepers Ben and Cathy, are THE absolute best - very responsive, helpful, and kind! Cathy made sure we were all set getting to the site with proper guides/documentation, and Ben was so helpful/available onsite when we needed *anything*. The grounds themselves are the perfect funky get-away from busy city life - 300 acres of surrounding forest and the opportunity to get lost in an enchanting abandoned zoo!
The Overlook campsite was perfect for stargazing, morning meditation, and just relaxing by the fire. There are several trails on site while only a quick drive away from many waterfalls and swimmable bodies of water. Even during a long weekend, one could not see all the wonders this lovely place has to offer, so for my next camping trip, I will definitely look for availability at The Old Game Farm”
“Ben and Cathy were so welcoming and accommodating and the camp site was beautiful and secluded. The wood burning stove in the tent kept us toasty at night and we had a lot of fun walking around the old game farm. We'll be back!”
“Absolutely wonderful hosts! Ben and Cathy went out of their way to make sure our family had the best time. After booking we were given tons of info on the site as well as background on the Old Game Farm. Communication was quick and helpful. They answered all of our questions. Once we got there Ben showed us around and made sure we were all settled. Their dog, Grady, even came to visit us a couple times and was very sweet. The site itself was very clean and 100% ready for us when we got there. Ben even was able to provide firewood (extra fee--but totally reasonable and super convenient) as well as let us use the camp store for any other small things we needed (the kids got some bug collection jars and freeze pops from the store). The kids loved walking around and exploring the old zoo.
We can't say enough good things about this site and these hosts. Super fun time was had by the whole family. We will definitely stay again! Great location and awesome experience.”
“We had a great time at this incredibly unique, beautiful property! Ben and Cathy were super responsive and nice, I would definitely stay here again. The area is great too - plenty to hike, eat, and see within a 30-60 minute drive. I'd highly recommend this for couples or groups that are looking for something a bit different and fun!”
“This was my 2nd Tentrr trip and it was twice as good as it was the first time! Ben and Cathy were AMAZING hosts. When we got there Ben was so helpful and gave us a tour of the special property. They have a 24/7 "campstore" which allowed us to go buy anything that we forgot at our leisure. I was actually amazed at how many necessities they were able to fit in that little shed! It's also great because they give you a key so you can go grab things you need without bothering them.
We spent a couple of hours wandering the zoo and taking in the really cool sites. It was a really cool version of a hike.
The property is 10 minutes from some of the best hikes and watering halls that the catskills have to offer. That was a major plus.
The campsite was huge and was setup perfectly. They have everything you can imagine and I will definitely be back. They made it the best camping trip we have ever had!”
“Our stay at The Old Game Farm was absolutely terrific. Our hosts were attentive, accommodating, and lovely. The site is secluded, but still near attractions, and exploring the former zoo with our puppy was quite fun -and made especially joyful by our hosts' dog, who took the liberty of guiding us through the attractions. We loved our stay, and we look forward to returning in the fall.”
