“This site is well worth the money. The highlight is the swimming hole, bring your goggles and snorkel because it’s beautiful to see under the water.
We had one rain day and with the amount of games to play we weren’t really bothered that much. This site has it all and the hosts are top notch!! Will be back next summer for sure.”
“This site was fantastic. We have three kids under 10 and all five of us slept in the tent with the two queen beds.
The swimming hole was amazing. Some spots were way above my head with nice spots to jump in from the edge. The water is COLD even in August, but very nice and refreshing.”
“This is the second time I have stayed here and both times I have found the hosts extremely hospitable and the grounds to be postcard worthy (especially the swimming hole!). The campsite is secluded and private-ish. The beds are very comfortable and the extra cabin makes it a cinch to bear proof at night. The firewood package and the gas grill package makes for more time to spend with friends and family and is well worth it. A big enough grocery store is close by and they have a cooler at the campsite, not to mention plenty of chairs etc, I couldn’t think of an easier car camping experience. Bring your sunscreen and bug spray and leave your cares at home!”
“This is a one-of-a-kind Tentrr location. It is simply amazing, you will not be disappointed! There are multiple structures on the site. All are well-built and maintained. The owners love it and it shows. There is:
- a bathroom (no plumbing) and shower with hot water.
- a structure (20ft /15ft) that has the feel of a living room (tables, chairs, rug, board games, cards). A lot of time and attention was put into making it cozy and inviting.
- a platform with a dining table along with netting that can be removed.
- an open-air platform that overlooks the river. Beautiful views.
The river and swimming hole are incredible, the water is crystal clear. There are multiple spots to fish. We brought our gear and caught a few. The waterfalls are spectacular and are a sight to see. Multiple firepits and sitting areas are located along the river and the site itself.
I cannot overstate the friendliness of the owners. They were always available and came to greet us upon arrival. The site is large, so having a walk-through with them was helpful. Thank you for an amazing experience. We will be back!”
“I booked Purling Water for a weekend birthday celebration with my husband and our two grown children. We arrived with our coolers, food and sleeping bags expecting two spacious tents, a grill and not much more. In fact, we were in a large campsite that included a rustic cabin with a deck, a dining gazebo, a luxurious outhouse and running water (in a slop sink) all to ourselves. In addition, there was a sitting area overlooking a magical creek (which we swam in it later) and a lovely firepit. The tents were clean and the mattresses most comfortable. One is not far from "civilization" which was helpful when we ran out of beer and marshmallows. Linda and Hugh are lovely hosts.”
