“Relaxed calm setting with the sound of the river flowing just below.
Beds are very comfortable and there was lots of space for kids to run around.
You can drive your car right up to the location. Lovely hikes 15 mins away.
The river was cold but delightful. Lots of shallow areas for younger kids to safely play and deeper areas to float in.
We loved the break from the city.
There was quiet a lot of mosquitoes but they did not seem to bite that much. Bring SPRAY.”

“EPIC!! In "ordinary" times this would have been a beautiful outdoor site - a very large private area, wonderful amenities and services, a private entry to a series of waterfalls and swimming holes. In "Covid" times after being shut up in a Manhattan apartment for months, my stay at Purling Waters was THE event of the year! It was the most magical blissful vacation ever with all the quiet, charm, privacy, and safety one would want at a moment like this while fully surrounded by lush beauty. I'm so grateful to have had this experience and thankful to the ever accommodating hosts!”

“It’s easy to feel hopeless these days. With everything that’s going on in the world, I find myself often wondering, “What’s the point?” But after me and my friends had a weekend stay at Purling Waters, I instantly felt that perspective shift, back to a renewed sense of optimism and love. The site is beyond magnificent. It’s vast and tranquil, located right on a crystal clear stream. Even though it was early October, the stream was still swimmable. The tent was furnished with foam mattresses that felt like I was sleeping in my apartment, rather than a tent! And not to mention, the site is located in such a beautiful town, with loads of cute restaurants and mystical hikes. But the highlight of the trip had to be Brian, the caretaker and part owner of the site. He's such a kind and gentle soul, who was beyond helpful at fulfilling any of our needs. He clearly has such a love of Purling Waters, and you could feel it in every inch of the campsite. As someone who’s quite the city slicker, the prospect of camping is exciting yet daunting, but this site will provide you with all of the joys of a camping trip without any of the hassle. 10/10 would recommend!”
