“This was our first time using TENTRR. Ben was a wonderful host and really made us feel comfortable. He was easy to communicate with as well. The wooded site was very well kept. I would like to add that it is very secluded from the main area of the zoo. You definitely get the experience of being in the middle of the woods! We do plan on going back again but next time we plan on staying at an area a little closer to the main part of the zoo. Looking forward to going back.”
“Just stayed here with some family and had an absolutely perfect time. Ben was incredibly hospitable, and accommodating. A lot of us hadn't seen each other in months, and had a great time building a fire that burned all evening long, cooking, and making s'mores. we added just about all of the optional add ons, which seemed worth it to just have it all set up, and save everyone the trouble of trips to stores, or packing it ourselves. The fire, plus lanterns, and tiki torches kept our 3 tent "compound" (I brought one extra tent, and we set up spread out around the site) well lit and the ambiance incredible. We had 2 other family members stop by to walk around the grounds, and just spend some quality time, and Ben couldn't have been cooler about it, or anything asked of him. The location was super cool, we felt totally secluded in our spot, and I, personally, never saw another guest. Access to a couple of amenities at the Inn on the property was appreciated by some, although I chose to spend all of my time at our campsite or walking the trails and through the old game farm, that we had visited as kids. We recreated a few old photos, and the current kids in our group weren't bored for a single moment, which is always a fear these days, when removing them from their technology. Really had a great time with 3 generations of family. It couldn't have gone much better at all. We were already discussing the possibility of a return trip at a later date with my other sibling and her kids as well. This will be something we all remember, so thanks for the memories”
“Loved exploring the property, truly unique place to stay. The renovations done to the giraffe house to make it into an inn were so thoughtful and well done, we'd love to come back and stay there sometime too!
Only comment I'd make about this particular TENTRR site is to consider bringing your own fold-out chairs if you plan to sit around the fire. Otherwise, great location! We even heard some barred owls very very close once the sun had gone down.”
“The Abandoned Zoo Wooded Site is beautiful and secluded. We loved being surrounded by woods, the convenience of Tentrr, and getting to explore the zoo. My friends and I would definitely return to finish exploring!”
“The site was unique, comfortable and secluded. The abandoned zoo was fun to explore and proximity to Kaaterskill Falls and all the trails was fantastic. Ben was helpful and efficient. All in all it was an amazing experience and look forward to coming back, maybe even exploring the lodg they run as well in the colder months!”
