“Excellent, clean and private camping location! The amenities were all clean and organized. It was easy to begin enjoying the weekend with everything setup and ready to go when we arrived. Our hosts were fantastic! They helped us get prepared with lots of information in advance of arriving and were extremely responsive to our follow up questions while at the site. We look forward to visiting again!”
“We had a great time during our stay. Everything was beautiful and peaceful. The hosts had a lot of wonderful local activities and eats suggestions though we didn’t choose to venture from the camp. Awesome place to stay to get away from it all, and the dogs loved it too!”
“We had an absolute blast at this campsite! Definitely spend the extra money for kayaks - this makes the trip totally worth it. We loved hanging out on the kayaks all day and warming up by the campfire. The river was full of turtles, which provided a really fun, relaxing float on the water. This campsite was much more stocked than we anticipated, complete with back-up lighters, two bundles of firewood, lighter fluid, and cooking tools. The grill is good for basic grilling and cast iron cooking. This location is very remote and located next to a private ATV trail. Definitely bring a vehicle with 4WD - we rented a Jeep to be on the safe side and were glad that we left our 2WD sedan at home. Campkeepers are super responsive and nice but left us alone. We would love to stay here again.”
“Location, location, location! All the hills made it extra private and our dogs roamed freely. Note that the grill is just a grate over fire, but we were able to make some fantastic meals by bringing the right cooking gear. Air mattresses are extremely loud if you have a kid or kids on the top bunk...be prepared for not much sleep. We loved having a little picnic table with space to store a couple iron pots we brought with. Wood-burning stove is lovely… We had one night which was cold and it was very cozy in tent. Place could be maintained a little better as tent is aging and accessories need love. My advice is buy firewood from a local store once you are there instead of through the reservation as very expensive for the amount of wood provided. Great communication. Recommend this place to anyone, especially a family wanting to get away and be one with nature in a secluded area. Assuming due to time of year, river was very quiet and lots of obstacles to swim around (kinda swamp like) if you do go in the water.”
“Great spot. We didn't see another person while kayaking and flyfishing on the river.
Campsite is cute being perched above the river. Unfortunately it rained on our firewood shortly after arrival, we ran out of cooking fuel, and the provided air matress wouldn't hold air. It was an unfortunate combination of events, but we still had fun. I hike and fish and live in Maine, but I heard 3 or 4 different bird sounds for the first time at this site.”
