Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“This place is amazing! This was my second trip here, and lived it just as much as the first. The site is so private, even with other sites full we were very secluded from the other campers. I was very happy to see a Porto potty right on the site this year, as the others are a bit of a walk and it was very convenient having one closer. I highly suggest keeping in down at that end of the campground, even if in between the 2 Tentr sites to share as opposed to having them all down by the group tenting site. Please consider this, as part of the Tentr fees as opposed to an extra cost to have the Porto potty moved.
I will definitely be booking this again annually!! Easiest and best camping trip!!”
“Booked this last weekend and we had the best experienced that money couldn't buy sunset/sunrise and peace. And Sarah was very nice and prompt to all our needs. I cant wait to book this location again.”
“We’ve done a Tentrr every year for a number of years. This had been the location we like the best so far. It was equipped with standard Tentrr items as well as Coleman gear. We particular enjoyed the use of the Coleman lanterns and propane grill. It rained for half our stay and the Coleman grill we were able to put under the canopy and still cook in the rain. We liked it so much we put it on our Christmas list. The water was crystal clear & close access you step out of tent and gradually walk in to lake is 10 feet away. I liked the ability to walk in and wade with out muck and a slimy bottom all sand. This will definitely be our first choice moving forward. The host was very personable and helpful as well!”
“What an awesome little piece of heaven on earth this site is! Your own private beach, canoe access, and everything you need to make a memorable weekend. I would definitely recommend.”
“This was our second time coming to this site so we were very excited because we had experienced the beautiful camp site and Lake Watchic in 2021. The beach and lake water are stunning, and we had the pleasure of seeing the bald eagle and loons daily.
Upon arrival we were informed that the host has family friends staying on the property, (within eyeshot), in an RV with their grandchildren. Around the same time we were told that there would be busses arriving the next day with about 100 children for the day. While we fully understand that this site is managed by an organization for children, we felt that the possibility for 100 children 30 yards away for the day should have been stated upfront. Furthermore, the additional RV was unexpected and should have been disclosed in advance as well, the spigot for water was shared with this group as well as the general beach area. The description for this Tentrr needs an immediate update: "no motorized boats allowed" refers to the site and not the lake. The lake is sprawling with motorboats. The horseshoe pit advertised in the description is completely overgrown and unusable. We would also recommend bringing your own wood, the wood that is provided (10$/day) is unseasoned pine branches that are difficult for fire making- the host ended up bringing a little bit of lighter fluid- though we had to go out and buy our own once that ran out. Our entire camp set of pots and pans is covered in pine sap and soot, so if you plan on using the firewood provided- keep in mind how this will affect your things.
Lastly, the July bugs we pretty bad this year (nothing the Host could do, totally understand we are are in the wild), however the zippers for the tent was not functioning, and therefore we had to duct tape ourselves into the tent at night.
All in all, if you are looking for a quiet or private Tentrr, this isn't the place for you. Just something to be aware if you are looking to "get away". This Tentrr is perfect for a family since there is a swim area and easy beach entrance.”
Hey there Maya, thanks for your feedback here. Without honest reviews like yours, we wouldn't know where to improve. We are very sorry to hear that you had a less-than-ideal stay at one of our campsites. Since your review, we've gotten in touch with the host at this particular site and addressed some of your concerns.
