“Loved how private the place was, you have the entire campsite to your self. Sound of the creek flowing was relaxing. Charles was an outstanding host, providing all the basic necessities.”
“This was a great, relaxing spot to escape and unwind. Loved listening to the stream, and the tent and camping area was clean and well kept. Especially loved that our dogs were able to run and explore. Our host, Charles, was very responsive, and gave great suggestions for hikes in the area. Would highly recommend.”
“First and foremost, Charles is a spectacular host. He offered us to meet him at his house and he’d take us down the property to the camp site. He showed us around camp and said to let him know if we needed anything. He was a man of his word, as I needed more dry firewood since the kids had used most of what he already provided, and he did bright and early Saturday morning for us. He provided google map links for multiple locations around to hike and even gave personal knowledge of those hikes that came in use. (We hiked Devils Marbleyard and the view was so worth the hike with 2 12 year olds)
The site itself is amazing. You’ve got a beautiful Tentrr tent on a deck (with a pop up dome tent to use inside), multiple locations cleared out to put a tent which made my kids very happy. The bench and fire pit area was in a perfect location that overlooked the flowing spring. The kids and I loved falling asleep to the sound of it through the night.
Some others in reviews mentioned sounds of traffic nearby and roosters crowing. While we heard the roosters (which none of us minded and kind of gave us a little chuckle) but the traffic sounds weren’t an issue for us at all. At night all I could hear was the stream and my kids laughing in their tent. We also had our dog with us which worked out because across some perfectly laid stepping stones in the stream lies a HUGE open field. We spent hours playing frisbee, throwing the tennis ball for our dog, and chasing grasshoppers.
We will absolutely return here when the chance arises as we all decided this was the best moment of 2020 for us.”
“This was our family’s first ever camping trip and we had a wonderful time! The camp keeper was so gracious and answered all of my (many!) questions leading up to the trip. The site itself was well appointed and very clean. The tent was much more spacious than I expected. We brought our two young boys and they were delighted by the stream and sandy areas: it was the perfect playground for them. The camp keepers met our every need: extra firewood (it had rained the days prior and the firewood was too wet), propane for the indoor heater, and sleeping bags for our children. We were able to park the car close to the campsite which was convenient. Highly recommend this site. It was a great experience!”
“Beautiful and relaxing location. Kids described it as “super fun!” They loved crossing the creek on the stepping stones path.
I had concerns about traffic noise from some of the reviews, and wondered if it was right by a freeway or something, but the nearby Buffalo Turnpike is just a two lane road across the creek and beyond the meadow. We stayed all week and only saw maybe a dozen cars a day, mostly at morning/afternoon “rush hour.”
The bed was super comfortable, and heater worked great during a really cold night. The TENTRR loo was clean and delightful.
The host was very friendly and helpful, brought us dry firewood after a light rain. We definitely would return to this location. Recommend.”
“We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very well equipped: memory foam queen bed mattress; board games and cards; toiletries (liquid soap, hand lotion, q-tips, inspect spray); sun shower; Tentrr loo and a gas heater. It rained sporadically when we were there but this didn't hamper our stay. The weather was hot and sitting in the stream was the perfect antidote. The host family was very accommodating and the children were charming. I would stay there again.”
“Overall a good site. All the items (tent, chairs, table, etc.) were in excellent condition and well sited. Great view and accessible to vehicle up to a reasonable distance. Owner very friendly and made himself available. Provided good advice at time of arrival and directions to nearest stores in case of needs. Had extra firewood placed in a way to keep dry in case of rain.
Couple of negatives would be the steep incline to get to the tent from the road, really could use a more gradual ramp or a few steps. There was significant road noise at all hours including after midnight from a main road across from the site. For my family this actually was a comfort as we knew people were nearby but for those who wish to really get away this will break the rural atmosphere.”
