“Our Grotto View Tentrr experience was fantastic! The site was well maintained, the tent/bed was perfect and the supplies provided really made our stay much better!”
“Nice little site with all you need for a quick getaway. Not as secluded as the pictures appear, but that was apparent from the other reviews. Really enjoyed taking a walk on the Rail Trail. If you head about 3.5 miles south you get to the bridge featured in A Quiet Place (the trail itself was very prominent in the film). Stopped by the Bradley Farm just off the trail on our way back for lunch and to pet their goats. Rail Trail Cafe was another spot to grab a bite and catch some live music, but if you go BYOB! Gwyn was super responsive via text for anything we needed. My only complaint was that the air mattress was super noisy any time one of us moved. I think there needs to be a blanket between to the mattress and the metal cot to reduce the noise. Thanks for a wonderful birthday weekend!”
“There is no ground cover for this tent so bugs are free to get in as they wish. It would make a good winter/early fall tent but for spring and summer unless you don't mind bugs while you are sleeping I would stay away. I personally didn't care but most people dont want to pay 100/day to have spiders on the bed. There is a wood stove in the tent for colder days. Camp host was great and very responsive/friendly. Live music until about 8 PM at a close by outdoor pizza place. The food was meh.. and ended up getting digestive issues probs after. The pathways to the ponds is not maintained, check yourself for ticks and there are ducks/geese in the pond so didn't swim.”
“What a fantastic trip!
Not quite glamping but definitely an elevated camping experience!
I could’ve imagined better but the truth is the imagination cannot do justice to an amazing experience.
My friends and I celebrated a birthday with this Tentrr excursion on the evening of July 3rd.
It was a picturesque drive and a Rockwellian environment. The camp was neatly set up when we arrived. There was actually more amenities than we bargained for!
The family provided all necessary details and were very attentive leading up to the trip.
My only disappointments were:
- the shower bag
- skillet and other supplies were uncleaned and in an unclean area
Since it was a one night trip, we didn’t shower and we brought our own cooking supplies!”
“This was out 1st Tentrr experience and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations.
Pros: The site itself was nice, we had clean linens, tiki torches were great, plenty of firewood near the site. Close to Minnewaska Park - the huge lake and Awoshing waterfall are beautiful. Woodburning stove inside tent is pretty cool.
Cons: we had strong thunderstorms during our stay and the main canvas tent is not waterproof. These tents don't have a layer of canvas or plastic covering the wooden deck, so puddles of water made their way 3 feet into the tent in some places. We had to keep our bags on the bed or strategically placed throughout the room to avoid puddles. As a result, the inside of the tent is covered in mold. The screen door doesn't close completely, so the tent was full of insects.
I would have preferred to spend the night in my 10 yr old Coleman tent, which still keeps us dry and insect-free to this day.”
“We had a great stay! The site is really nice, and convenient to get to from NYC. You feel secluded enough but not completely in the middle of nowhere. We enjoyed the Rail Trail cafe as well - super close, and great food. The only thing is they have live music until about 9 or 10. Fine if you don't mind that, but it won't be completely silent until then. Hosts were really nice and helpful as well!”
“Interesting location and responsive hosts, but some issues - campsite is in view of a small house through the woods, as well as a creepy looking caravan (did not feel private). There was a good amount of noise on a Friday night (music from a house party), we were 30 mins late and the host was not there to show us to the site, and there was no firewood. The host did apologize, arranged for firewood (which arrived several hours after we did), and the camp was in generally good repair (including some tiki torches which were a nice addition!). Overall would not stay here again, but not a horrible experience.”
