Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“I have done Camping with a bigger crowd back in India, but this was the first time camping with just my wife and daughter. They have even lesser experience. Hence though I had Tent and basic camping setup, I wanted to have a ready camp to try out. And I was right in doing so.
There are lot many moments of the trip which will etch in our memories forever. The huge open beutiful farm, a completely secluded and private Tent area, almost in-jungle experience, hassle-free stay are a sure plus.
The mid July weather, we found the tent getting pretty hot in the noon-afternoon, and in a clear sky, the night gets chilly. Lucky we had some sleeping bags and extra sheets with us, as there were none. So you need to dress smart.
There were plenty woods to light up the campfire, and enough charcoal/lighter fuel to set you up for two days stay.
The place being right in the midst of woods, there were plenty of bugs and spider and lot of new species of flying insects we encountered. So you must have a good stash of outdoor/camp spray, picaridin spray and clothing -bug off spray. Also be advised to get some bug repellant smoke/candle/incense stick with you.
But all above are part and parcel of the camp life. This experience we had would have been five-star, if not a few lowlights. Cleanliness is one of them. We felt the tent and the wooden podium are not been cleaned for some time. We found bugs/spiders even within the tent.
Another aspect is the bathroom, the pee-pod/porta potty is just yaak. Total gross. We just ventured there once and we kept it closed. We took the pain to walk almost half a mile, to the permanent structure for the bathroom and bath area, which were relatively cleaner. If you are stickler for clean potty zone, this farm-camp is a no go. barring from this one ( and a half for cleanliness) this running r retreat camp ground rocks.
BTW, Don't be surprised to find additional campers as other than the tentrr, camps, there were traditional camping area was available for booking. However, when we went, we were the only ones out there.”
“We (family of 3 / first time campers) had a great time at Running W Retreat. We stayed 2 nights during ‘Memorial Day’ weekend and had a blast. Camp keeper Skye was amazing from start to finish. Her family arranges annual Memorial Day celebration party every year which finishes with huge firework. Skye invited us to join them where we met some lovely people and had unlimited food and drinks. My 10 years old son can’t stop talking about this :-)
The view from the tent is really beautiful. But due to heavy rain we spent lot of time in their firm which for us was the show stopper. Thanks a lot Skye for hosting us. We highly recommend this campsite and can’t wait to be back soon.”
“We had a lovely time at Running W. My two daughters loved the farm, the tent, the fire pit, the stream and the forest, and have talked about their 'glamping' experience a lot ever since. Sky and her son made us feel really welcome. I was also amazed that there were very few bugs - much fewer than in the city. We'd love to come back. Highly recommended!”
“We absolutely loved this place. It was exactly as described. The owner, Skye, was very sweet - she met us after dark and escorted us to our site. I highly advise having an SUV if you want your car at the site.
Skye allowed to stay for one night (two night is the minimum), thank you! Everything is provided for you, water, fire wood, propane, heater, lanterns etc. Since I'm a seasoned camper I always bring these with me but it felt great not having to unpack these items! In the morning we explored the farm - horses, piglets, sheep, just truly amazing.
Highly recommend and I will be back.”
“We had a great weekend at Running W Retreat. Beautiful, quiet and peaceful spot. Being on a farm was fun as our kids loved seeing and spending time around the animals. Water provided was helpful as was the firewood however it didn't burn easily as it didn't appear to be fully dried out. We would certainly come back!
The photos on this listing must be old as the tent itself is quite worn out, old. No stove in the tent as is shown in the photos. We wish there were as it got quite cold! No wooden Adirondack chairs, plastic ones instead as well as wooden rocking chairs. Picnic table and kitchen area don't look like the photo at all.
We had to pump up our air mattresses as they were somewhat deflated. We were given 1 gas cylinder which worked for one dinner and heating up water in the morning before it ran out. We ended up using our own for the rest of our meals and to use the small hand space heater at night but it shut off halfway through the night as our own cylinders ran out. We just happened to have brought some with us. We didn't think we'd need our own. If we had texted the owner to ask for more I'm sure she would have helped as she was lovely however with no cell service at the camp site, we didn't bother. They also provided a lighter which didn't really work and some battery-operated lights, some of which were out. There were some batteries floating around the chest with items provided but we just used our own lights.
Not sure if details like being given full gas cylinders or pumped up air mattresses are expected. We didn't mind dealing with these things on our own. We had just assumed though these were details that would be taken care of.
Overall a wonderful weekend getaway!”
“I booked 2 nights for my son and I. October 2-4. We were very excited. This would be our first trip camping. Skye greeted us on our arrival. We were unable to drive down to the site. The road are full of rocks and holes. Skye drove us down and showed us around. We unpacked a bit and then took a walk up to her farm and saw goats, cows, horses, chickens. We walked back down and saw the deck, toilet, grill, were not clean. I am not sure if its supposed to be cleaned before we get there....we tried to build a fire and could not. My son said we are incompetent City Folk LOL. I texted Skye and her husband Jim came down and built us a great fire. They had a charcoal grill to use and also a small propane grill. They had pots and pans but I had brought my own. There was a picnic table and chairs. Very nice. We made smores by the open fire and had dinner and then we didn't know what to do and went to bed around 8pm. We were cold so we tried the space heater. It wouldn't work and I changed the propane tank. We got it started and went to bed. The bed was very creaky and the air mattresses rubbed against the wood and we could not sleep. We also were not prepared for the cold! We had one blanket each and slept with jackets and hoodies. The heater went out at 11pm, so we changed the propane again and it went off at 2pm - we didn't have any more propane and we went to take a walk to the small field to see the stars and the Moon. We started a fire at 5am to get warm and unfortunately we cut our trip short. I think we would have had a beautiful day but we were exhausted. Tips: Definitely bring warm sheets (the air mattress can be cold), blankets and pillows and a space heater. There is no electricity. There is no cell service but if you walk to the field there is. Bring flashlights. There were some loud animal cries at night and the rooster crows at 5am LOL. There a babbling brook which is nice. There are other sites on the property on the field that people can pitch tents on. We were the only ones there this weekend but Skye said usually there are others. I would not consider this a bad place to go by any means just not for us.”
