“Me, my sister and my 5 year old daughter stayed at running w farm for the weekend. The owners as well as everyone on the farm were very welcoming and friendly. We loved being able to roam the property and interact with the animals. My daughter really loved checking on the animals and playing on the goats playground! The campsite was wonderful and well stocked. The actual site is just a short walk from the farm. We all enjoyed our time and would definitely visit again”
“Loved staying here! This was our first stay with Tentrr. The owner was great! We needed a weekend away to "disconnect" and this was perfect - no cell service at the site itself, which we actually enjoyed quite a bit. We enjoyed walking around the farm and seeing all the animals. Thank you for having us! :)”
“Skye was an amazing host! We got there late at night and on an unfortunately freezing night, and Skye had a fire blazing for us. The site was decorated with pumpkins around the tent which was such a nice touch for early October camping! The heater is very helpful, especially if above 30 out (we had one night below 30 and it was a bit rough). The site was tucked away in a secluded area, but only a short walk from their incredible farm. We got to see the pigs, goats, baby goats, horses, cows, and chickens. It's also right next to a small private field with amazing views of the stars. We were able to drive in, but it is definitely tricky. It was a relaxing weekend with no issues besides the cold weather! Highly recommend!”
“It was our first family camp with a toddler and a dog. It was awesome! We loved the place which is so relaxing and private. Our son enjoyed small river and hammock in the forest. At night, we could see sky full of stars from field, which is 2 minutes walk from the tent. A lot of thanks to the owner for their great hospitality!”
“Skye and Jim went above and beyond their hosting duties during my stay! Upon arrival, I entered into a bliss of open sky, and beautiful fields full of grazing cattle, marvelous horses and curious goats. Skye met me right away and drove me to the site as I packed a bit heavy. I brought a pot, pan silverware, French press, cooler with the basics as well as a pillow, sleeping bag and extra wool blanket. Even thought it’s a glam ping tent, you’re still camping. She provided firewood(large case) for my campfire. There is a wood burning stove inside the tent which was nice and cozy during the night. The tent is big enough for four, but huge for me as I was flying solo for the weekend, This camp has an mini Weber propane grill that was PERCECT for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner! Be sure to bring tinfoil as I ended up using that vs. my cast iron pan. There is a great outdoor table with ample storage for a small cooler and supplies. It’s lockable as well. I loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs with my morning coffee listening to the babbling brook. This truly is one of the quietest, most peaceful places I’ve been to outside of the city in a long time. Be sure to bring a flash light or candles as it’s pitch black at night. Oh, And there are no mosquitos!!! Their outstanding kindness, overall generosity and incredible warmth made my trip that much better. Upon my departure, Skye and Jim offered me farm fresh eggs, steak and pork all raised on site. This place is a true slice of heaven, especially if you love to camp. I almost don’t want to share it!! Thank you Skye and Jim, I’ll be back!! ;)”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Running W Retreat. Skye was a fantastic host and we loved exploring the farm. We highly recommend Running W Retreat!”
“Our family had an AWESOME visit to the campsite at Running W Farms. The property owner Skye and her family went above and beyond as hosts. She offered pony rides for our two kids for a very reasonable fee and then she let them help feed the goats and pigs (and gave them multiple rides in her Gator)! The campsite was lovely and secluded. It was clean and well-equipped. She helped us take our gear down in her Gator. Our SUV probably would have made it, but we preferred to leave it in the parking area at the top of the hill. We would definitely recommend this location to families looking to combine camping and a farm experience. The farm is home to over a dozen horses/ponies, a small herd of pygmy goats, lots of pigs, 2 donkeys, cows, chickens, ducks, and even a turkey! We also saw deer near the campsite in the early morning and of course lots of spiders, chipmunks, squirrels, and other little rodents all around. The Tentrr bunkbeds with the air mattresses were comfy, but also squeaky. If I was doing it again, I would line underside of the mattresses with blankets. My other #protip for camping Upstate in late Aug. is to bring warm clothes & extra bedding, the temperature really drops at night and if your site is in a heavily wooded area like this one, be prepared that it will be damp and dewy. We enjoyed the diversity of both the climate and the farm setting to the wooded setting. We were fully entertained by nature during our stay and would love to go back again! Thanks, Skye & Running W!”
