We camped at the hilltop site. Positive: beautiful views especially in the evening. For being only a 15 minute drive outside of McMinnville, you feel like you are totally alone. It's peaceful and quiet (except for the birds :) Negative: if you are at this spot on a hot day, you definitely need canopies and ways to cool off during the day because there is no shade. But it's only a 2 minute walk downhill to the creek. There appeared to be some poison oak or ivy around the site which could be an issue. The ground at the hilltop site is quite rocky, so be sure to have good sleeping pads! Tips: if you don't bring enough water or plan to filter what is local, there is a spring down by the creek, but you'll have to carry it back up the hill. Bring extra garbage bags--there are handy pop-up portapoty tents at the sites, but there was only one bag--and I'd definitely double-bag any human waste before putting it in the car and leaving it in the bin on the way out. The other sites on the property are shaded and far enough apart that you won't see or hear the other people while at your site. I would definitely recommend this place over a paved, crowded campground.
