We had a great time at Hera's farm. Campsite was exactly as advertised from the listing, no surprises. Hera was there to welcome us and give us a lay of the land, and was very helpful leading up to the trip by giving us a download on what was needed, provided, etc. We used the provided grill grate to cook over the fire, and the wood stove kept the tent nice and warm. Amazing fall colors and sunset / sunrise light. The full moon and howling coyotes were extra bonuses on this trip. Campsite is set up to cover all basic needs without any hassle - bear-proof garbage container with extra bags, grill brush & utensils, camp toilet with some cool NASA-grade waste disposal bags. Plenty of kindling and firewood, and an extra lantern and flashlight. Would definitely recommend this spot to a couple looking for a secluded camping experience.

Our stay at Hera's farm was nothing short of magical. The campsite looks out across a thirty-acre meadow to a spectacular mountain ridge (part of which is owned by the late great David Bowie) and you cannot help but be moved by the beauty and majesty of the setting. Our CampKeeper, Hera, is a national treasure...a famous sculptress with works of art in NYC and around the country. She is among the warmest and most interesting people you could meet, and if you're lucky enough to be asked onto her screen porch for a glass (or three) of wine, we highly recommend that you take her up on it. We swam in the pond on her property and also discovered a second secret swimming hole on our hike. The charming town of Woodstock is a 10-minute drive away. Bread Alone bakery, vintage and home goods shops, and the Red Onion restaurant were highlights. We can't wait to go back to one of the most specracular, private, romantic places on earth.
