“I was seeking a secluded retreat where I could relax in nature free of distractions or other campers. This property gave me exactly what I was looking for. The host, Brad (Ray) was super friendly and nice to talk to, but also picked up on my desire for tranquility and gave me lots of space. He provided plenty of firewood and drinking water to keep me comfortable for my three day stay.
This site has a wonderful view for sunrises and stargazing, and a beautiful full moon rose directly across the valley from me. I had campfires every evening and cooking in camp was easy with the provided table and cabinets.
When I did leave camp I enjoyed a cafe in Nevada city about 25 minutes away. There were also many hiking trails to choose from all over this area.
There was lots of space available for additional tents and vehicles, so I would definitely consider this for a group trip in the future. Overall this trip was exactly what I was looking for and I hope to return someday!”
“WOW!
After driving along a track for quite some time, the forest parts and you see the view of the distant mountains with a huge clear view of the sun setting sky. And in the middle is the tent. The host met me there, showed me where all the features were, set the tent up for me and asked what time I would like my hot water for a shower the following morning. Once he left it was just me and the views.
It was so peaceful and still. The sun setting behind me cast it's golden glow across the mountains and forest. I sat for 2 hours watching until dark. The only sound being the crickets chirping. Calling it a night, the bed was very comfortable and I slept well. I woke up around 6am as advised by the host to watch the sun rise. I wasn't disappointed! The sun rise was directly ahead of me and I took some of the most beautiful photos. The shower was an experience. Standing outside with no one around taking a hot shower with the views, it'll always be the best shower I'll ever have.”
“Stayed here with my kid on our road trip back up to Oregon. We cooked our hotdogs, did some star gazing (saw a couple shooting stars), then slept cozily before hitting the road for our last 500+ miles the next day. Maybe next time we’ll be able to stay longer to take in some of the hiking.”
