“Our stay at Ridgeview Farm certainly exceeded our expectations. The campsite was perfect. We loved how secluded it was, as the site is about a 5 minute walk from the car. It also has so many perks - running water, a kitchen box stocked with all the essentials, free firewood, a shower and RV toilet, and a light over the picnic table. Kris and Simon truly have thought of everything, and they went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was magical. We got the extra breakfast and dinner packages, and all the food was amazing, complete with homemade chocolate chip muffins and pecan pie. We felt very spoiled. The horses were a highlight, and our girls enjoyed the short walk over the the pasture to see them. We did take advantage of the horseback riding, and it is an experience that we won't soon forget! As for the location, there is so much to do in the area. We enjoyed hiking, lunch at a brewery, and checking out the local swimming spot. Ridgeview Farm is a special place, and we will definitely be back! Thank you, Kris and Simon, for sharing your land with us.”
“Simon was a great host, communication was great and he was helpful bringing gear to the campsite. His explanation of how to use the camp facilities was quick and easy to understand. Clean well stocked campsite on a beautiful piece of property. Sunset views were stunning and the nearby trails were beautiful. Would definitely like to camp here again.”
“Wonderful time despite the rain! Great use of "pleasant surprise" - the ad underpromises and the hosts overdeliver. They've installed solar-powered overhead lights in the eating area and upgraded the bathroom facilities, with the addition of an RV toilet and best of all... an instant hot-water heater for the shower! No 5-gallon Coleman camp shower anymore! My only recommendations would be an additional light above the (hot water providing! What a boon to doing dishes.) kitchen sink, as that corner is quite dark. The host's dogs do a great job at keeping the coyotes away (we could hear them in the distance, but the dogs have been trained to bark so they didn't approach. I felt extraordinarily safe there, and I'm a city-dwelling 'fraidy cat! As for the horseback riding, it's a definite plus. In fact, it was the primary reason I chose this Tentrr experience over any other. I had a great time out there on trails, and so did my partner, who was on a horse for the first time.
If it seems like I've overused the exclamation point in this review, it's because this was an all-around superlative experience!”
“After 16 months of sitting at home, first teaching on line and then having total hip replacement in May, I was ready get outside. Krias and Simon are superb host who have provided a perfect experience. This 2 night break was all I could have imagined and more. First of all this site is close to glamping: hot and cold running water for the shower, canopy over the picnic table, composting toilet, complete kitchen supplies WITH a two bowl sink (yes, running hot and cold water) for clean up.
The add-ons are so worth it. We had a most excellent trail ride with up over the mountain Kris (she found a patchytwat [#shiteventersunite] named Kona who could carry my 6' self). Kris treated us not only to scenic beauty but a history of the area as a major blueberry provider including the blueberry train rail path and the houses/huts that housed the migrant workers (flashback to Lois Lenske's Strawberry Girl that I read as an 8 yo and made me a nurses' union stalwart). And definitely order the amazing steak dinner: along with the meat it was perfectly packaged with a foil wrapped packages of veggies and tiny potatoes.
Finally ask Simon to show you the local swimming entrance to Willey Ponds (looked like a lake to me!) The water is perfectly clear and the footing sandy not icky. Very refreshing after a hot day hiking or riding. Yes we picked some blueberries but the downtown was mostly spent walking or sitting on the deck in the adirondack chairs. Oh yes, I forgot the nap in the hammock.
My only disappointment was that my greyhound did NOT enjoy the out-of-doors. She would stand on the deck at night but not venture any further in dark and, by preference, would spend her day free time in the tent. I did her in to the beaver pond once but that was it for her. Can't blame Ridgeview Farm that my dog turned out to be a city girl.
Short story - you should go here!
Photos of dog in beaver pond, dog on bed, me wryly accepting that i have a city dog.”
“Practically perfect in every way! Highly recommend a stay at Kris and Simon's beautiful property. The amenities of the site really give you the best of both worlds and were a great comfort while still giving us that feeling of being out in the woods. We enjoyed relaxing on the property and going on a hike a short drive away. The hammock is the perfect place to read or listen to the birds. Then there was horseback riding and a steak dinner to boot! And Simon was just a text away if we needed anything. After the stress of this past year, this was a long overdue respite. Thank you Kris and Simon!!”
