Our stay at Sands creek was amazing. John, our camp keeper was friendly, caring, and genuine. He was an all around great guy. He brought our stuff to the campsite, provided us with extra ice , drinking water, fire starter and propane lanterns. The camp was right on the water, our dogs and son loved it( we brought 3 dogs and our 5 year old) . Not only did they have a blast playing in it, falling asleep to the sound of the creek flowing was soothing. The weekend was perfect. Would stay there every weekend if I could.

This campsite is a true hidden Gem! If I could give it 10 stars ✨ I would. Johnny was such a great host he stayed in touch with us until we arrived and greeted us with a warm welcome, he met us by the road and drove us down to the campsite ️ it was so peaceful and beautiful. Johnny gave us a history of his land and things to do around town. We asked if he would give us a tour of his nearby property which was also just breathtaking! Johnny provided us with ice and wood daily which was much appreciated as the nights are a bit nippy. We roasted marshmallow under the stars and slept like a baby to the sound of the running creek - We loved every minute of this trip. Johnny even taught my cousin how to drive 5speed on his truck Thank you Johnny for being the most amazing Host we will be back!! :)

What a absolutely beautiful stay! Johnny was the best host ever. He took us down. Got a set up even started our fire and ice not too many people give you ice bonus. He was absolutely right there when we needed it if we needed it he was a superb host. The place was beautiful. Awesome creek that ran right through the campsite. Our dogs absolutely loved every single minute of that creek. They were so tired out that they put themselves to bed. I would recommend going to Johnnys place anytime any day absolutely awesome time. Thank you so much. Def will come back again!!! So much serenity!!!!! Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!!!

This is a beautiful spot right where you can fall asleep to the sounds of the creek. It rained a lot, but the site never got muddy because it is so well maintained. Johnny helped us bring our gear a very short walk to the site, and we had our own little private oasis. Town is only 10 minutes away, so easy access to the town for food, gas, ice, beer, cell service, etc. The free firewood is a really nice touch with the price of firewood now. I slept like a baby, swam in the creek, and cooked over campfire. Also, my sister and brother-in-law came and had plenty of space for their own tent. Johnny was a great host. Book it!

We had an amazing weekend on John's property. We came up with our dog, arriving tired after dark after battling NYC summer Friday traffic. John met us by the road so we didn't miss the driveway, helped us load up his awesome mahindra and drove us down to the site. He even had a fire built and ready to be lit and provided us with an additional cooler of ice (though you should bring your own, having a lot of ice is v helpful!). Other reviews commenting on John's hospitality are right - he is a total gem. We left our phones in the car and enjoyed a day splashing in the creek, napping in the sun, and hiking around the property. the Note that even in august, it gets quiet cool at night up there! And because it's the mountains/next to a creek, there's a heavy nighttime dew. So things left outside will get damp. On Sunday, on John's recommendation we went the the "drive in fly in" breakfast at the grass runway airport right up the road. It was a very cool experience, and who doesn't like a stack of pancakes after sleeping in a tent? This was our first tentrr experience, we are excited to do it again!

We spend a wonderful summer weekend at Sands Creek Camp ground! John was an amazing host making our stay as easy and comfortable as it can get. He was welcoming us upon arrival, driving our luggage down the hill to the creek with his vehicle, gave us an introduction on where to find what and provided us with a load of firewood (for free!!) which came in more than handy during our 2 night stay. The campground is stunning, right next to a little stream where we enjoyed a private swimming performance from a beaver! Our 10 year old son couldn’t get enough in searching for fishes and frogs. We cooked over the open fire and enjoyed our family time under the stars. The tent itself was spacious and very clean. If anyone is looking for privacy in a beautiful setting including a very helpful and super nice host, the Sands Creek Camp is the place to go! We will be back!

Sands Creek Camp is a home away from home. If you want to have a relaxing getaway, and your goal is to have a total “reset” in your busy daily schedule this is the place to be. We were blown away with the beauty of the place, and were lullabied by the sound of the water from the creek. Johnny our campkeeper was very welcoming, he helped us load and unload our things and brought it to the campsite. He is super kind, and very thoughful brought us a cooler full of ice and cold water. We definitely recommend Sands Creek, and Johnny. Hopefully we’ll come back soon.
