“Generally nice surroundings and good access to nearby nature, but the crooked run was swampy and not accessible and the air mattress bunk beds were practically unusable as they creaked like crazy (and very loudly) and woke us up ever time someone did the slightest move. We slept on the floor and had to set up the tent the second night.”
“Was there for an over night and was pleased. Pay attention when finding the entrance, it sneaks up on you. We loved seeing the recycling bins there!
Future campers, please pick up your cigarette butts! The trash can is right there!”
“Great private spot a short drive from town. Trails right near the site and a stream on the other side (it was pretty low, but is probably really nice in late spring/early summer). Lots to do in the area. We didn’t meet the hosts but they were responsive to every email. There were surprisingly few mosquitos for being in the woods near water. Definitely check for ticks though.
Do yourself a favor and bring extra sheets or blankets to put under the mattresses, they are extremely loud whenever you shift your weight. Sheets help a lot.”
“Our issues with this site was mostly related to the Tentrr bed setup, which was a nightmare. The air mattresses makes a very loud creaking sound with every move as the plastic rubs against the wooden bedframe. Air mattresses are not supposed to be on slats. Further, the top air mattress is leaking air and partially deflated over night. For our second night we ended up setting up the dome tent.
On the bright side, the host provided plenty of water, comfortable chairs, and the site was nice and remote. There is also a nice trail through the woods directly from the site. One warning though is that the 'crooked run' is not really a river, at least not in July, and looked and felt more like a bog. Definitely not for wading or swimming.”
“The campsite was perfect! Great setup for hanging by the fire and cooking. Plenty of hiking trails to venture around during the day and hammock for an added bonus.”
“This site was so secluded and peaceful. Great communication from the friendly owners- we never met during the stay, but they did help get an item back to us that we left behind after checkout! Very helpful directions with a map of the site- you drive through two fields with some divets, but my Prius made it to the parking area with careful maneuvering, no problems. We were very happy to arrive at the site to find tiki torches, 5 comfy plastic adirondak chairs for around the fire (in addition to the 2 chairs tentrr provides), some firewood, plenty of water, and a cute citronella candle. We camped during a very hot and humid weekend in June- the horseflies were only bad in the field and there surprisingly weren't that many mosquitoes; but we also brought our own screened ez-up to put over the picnic table. Only downside were the ticks everywhere, but we did regular tick checks. Hiking trail right from the site, but we didn't explore too far down it, and when NH isn't in a drought, I'm sure the forest steam next to the site is very pretty! Enough parking for 3 cars, definitely more.. and plenty of room for kan jam, bocce ball, corn hole, etc. Also gorgeous sunsets from the parking area overlooking the field! The site was very secluded, we heard an owl every night and the neighbors dogs barking in the distance, but that was it! Highly recommend for a private wooded camping experience.”
“Great concept! We didn’t realize it was going to a double bunk - didn’t like that. Apparently it is POSSIBLE to disassemble but we we’re after the nothing to set up vibe. After we got home we read all the fine print and faqs on the website but any reference material at the site would be helpful. Never saw the hosts so didn’t know what to do with trash or water. And the camp toilet - same issue with lack of direction until after we got home and could not access the enormous amount of info on the tentrr site. Word to the wise read it all before you go.”
