“We had a great trip overall! The location was great and very isolated which was nice. The Gorilla Wagon was super helpful and our son loved it! The beds were extremely noisy and I highly recommend placing blankets under.”
“Enjoyed our weekend getaway. Description was exactly as we experienced. It was a beautiful, quiet place yet close enough for us to grab some items at the local store. Pretty and peaceful. We were lucky to have no bugs though the blow up beds on bunks did make noise as described. Tried putting blanket under which helped a little.”
“This was a beautiful , clean secluded site that was carry in . It was in mid to northern New Hampshire so it is in black bear territory and has an abundance of wildlife. We had rain for most of the 3 night trip so we explored the nearby towns of Bristol , Grafton and Meredith. We also took a trip to Mount Cardigan to do some hiking with our dog when the weather cleared a bit.
I would really recommend the addition of a bear box for storage of food near the campsite . The distance from the parking area to the tent and the terrain on the path to the campsite make food storage inconvenient and cooking a quick meal an issue, especially in the event of inclement weather which we had for most of the trip.
I would not recommend this particular site to people with no experience with the outdoors and camping safety. It should be for somewhat experienced campers only due to the secluded nature of the site.”
“Great host, great communication, getting to the site was very easy. Site was very clean. Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray, citronella candles and check for ticks after your trip.”
“A bit too much money for the stay but overall no regrets. The water and campsite is almost directly under high tension wires so that did not feel off the "GRID". Be prepared to keep a fire going most of the time in order to keep the mosquitos away. Tent was big, clean but the air mattress makes a ton of noise if you happen to move around.
Wished the water was more swimmable. We visited late June and the deepest water was maybe 2-3 feet deep and that was only one tiny spot otherwise 1 foot deep. Bring water shoes or crocs.”
“The campsite is in a lovely, quiet spot above the creek. The shady site keeps the tent damp but a lot of effort has gone into helping it smell fresh. And yes, the mattresses are really as noisy as other reviews have said.
Definitely check the directions on GPS navigation and follow the directions from the host.”
“This was a wonderful spot - the river was so close and fun to explore. The sounds of the water through the river stones lulled us to sleep. Be sure to see the fire flies in the field at night. Previous campers were right, the air mattresses are crazy loud on the wood frame. Putting blankets underneath definitely helped. For a great hike with good payoff, visit Welton Falls.”
