“This was a lovely and secluded camp site, as marketed. It is relatively close to a lake, hiking trails, restaurants, and state park, which we enjoyed. The river is not quite as high as reported, but that's probably due to the drought, and it's still lovely and fun to explore. There was no cell service with our carriers, and it was wonderful to be off the grid. However, when the top bunk air mattress deflated in the night, it made it tough to communicate with the host. We ended up driving into town and using the wifi at the Dunkin Donuts. The campsite was lovely and secluded, which we thoroughly enjoyed; however, some neighbor was shooting guns fairly close by at one point in the afternoon, and that was a bit disconcerting, especially while we were exploring the river area. Overall, I'm not sure I would pay that amount again, but we did enjoy our weekend.”
“Such a nice location! The river and seclusion were just what we needed. If you are looking for Very little cell service, peace and quiet and a nice tentrr setup this is your place! As others have said the air mattresses are noisy, and the neighbors gunshots are unsettling until you get used to it, but all and all it was a real great stay and I hope to come back! The little cart that the campkeeper leaves at the clearing was a lifesaver and very thoughtful!”
“This was our first Tentrr experience, and it was great. Whispering Pines is a sweet, secluded, foresty spot on a shallow river with very clean, cold mountain water. Waking up to the sound of the river and birds and no human neighbors was pretty great. This felt more like camping than any stay in a crowded campground has. We were alone in nature on a beautiful river. Our only suggestion for the campkeeper is to somehow silence the air mattresses, as they are very squeaky. We highly recommend this spot, and will certainly return, as it's a very short to drive Newfound Lake and Sculptured Rocks.”
“We spent 3 nights at Whispering Pines and had an excellent experience. Dave the camp keeper was very responsive and accommodating giving us all the tips and info we needed for the campsite and the area. Our Dog thoroughly enjoyed playing in the river while we cooked and watched from the campfire. A truly relaxing location listening to all the birds and the sound of the river in the background. Keep your eye out for wildlife as we came across a hunting fox, fish in the river, and plenty of deer tracks everywhere! I would definitely recommend this site with the only tip being in the summer months to bring bug spray and some citronella candles (there are some provided in the tent) as it can get a little buggy around dusk (nothing new for a New England Summer).”
“Had an amazing time at this sweet little spot on the River. We took morning walks around the woods and up and down the river. Foliage was beautiful and it was very peaceful. My Fiance and I were supposed to get married this weekend and because of Covid had to reschedule so we thought we'd get away an unplug for a bit and this was perfect for it. If you like the outdoors and nature, you've got to check this place out. We just thought it was the coolest thing and such a great idea! Our camp keeper did a great job setting the place up and responding to our questions. We'll definitely be back!”
