Tent is in a great location situated on a hill right next to a beautiful river. The whole place has a very private feel. There is a great, spacious, private parking area that leads down a woodsy-manicured path to the tent. My kid and I loved exploring the river jumping from rock to rock, and it was like we had it all to ourselves. Host was polite, responsive to questions, and open to suggestions for a better stay. All-in-all highly recommend it! Pro-Tip : Try setting a fire in the stove in the tent well before bedtime to get the fire going and regulate the amount of heat. It will smoke at first and you want time to air the tent out. Keep the bottom flu mostly closed

My Wife, Daughter and I had a great time at this site. It has a nice path through the woods (about 100 yards) to get to the spot and is really private. It's just a couple yards down a hill to the river. My daughter loved exploring and hopping from rock to rock. It was nice just to sit out there in the sun and relax. The host was easy to communicate with and helpful with any little issues we had. The tent was as-pictured and did not disappoint. Couple pro-tips - if it's cold while your camping get the stove in the tent going well before bedtime incase you get any smoke in the tent you'll be able to vent it out before going to sleep (it doesn't take long). That and keep the flu open and limit the flow in the front grate (Very small holes) to reduce smoke. Bring 2 fry pans. Make sure you have room in your car on the way out for a trash bag, you have to take it with you. And prepare yourself for Owls! They took us by surprise, and they are NOT quiet, LOL, but pretty awesome to hear.

The camp site is awesome! Dave was easy to talk to and very helpful. Description is very accurate. The only thing that needs improvement would be the air mattresses, we'll bring our own next time. Thank you Dave for sharing your place with us.

Perfect atmosphere for camping! The river is beautiful and our dogs loved playing in it. The camp site was immaculate when we arrived and everything was set up so well that it felt like glamping! The shade that the trees provided was perfect during the warm days. Dave, the host, is very responsive and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this site if you’re looking for woodsy privacy! Keep in mind there’s no cell service, not that many people would expect it camping.

Had an amazing time the area is beautiful and private great for the kids dogs to run around safely! Only thing was that the airmatress could use a replacement and ensure people come from Fowler rd entrance but other wise, I would def Recommend :)!

Such a peaceful and relaxing stay at The Whispering Pines At the River! The river was perfect to cool off in during the day, and the fire (and firewood the host left for us) was the perfect way to warm up while winding the night down. The location couldn’t be better, right next to newfound lake, great places to hike, super market around the corner and restaurants in town just 20 minutes away. It gave us the best of both worlds- scenic views, and whatever else we need just close by!
