Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Frank is an Incredible host. He created the perfect campsite on top of a 3,260 ft mountain in the Catskills. There was a full cord of seasoned firewood, the tent was impeccable, flannel sheets, warm blankets, and a well stocked kitchen. Frank thought of everything, including two pales to wash dishes, hammock, shower, and 15 gallons of water. And if you don’t want to cook over the campfire, he has a two burner propane cooker. Frank has created perfection in”glamping” - loved this Site and would totally come back! One more thing, the hike down the mountain to the shared pond was majestic. Be fit and in shape, it is a tough hike!!”
“My husband and I recently stayed at Fire Watch Meadow (with our dog!) for our anniversary. We live in the city and were desperately in need for some open space and fresh air and great hiking trails. We stayed for 5 days! Frank and Terry were great hosts, and greeted us with filled up water gallons + freshly picked mint from their garden. So kind! We were provided all the extra amenities as shown (pots, pans, burners, water jugs, etc) which were honestly really nice to have because that is a lot of stuff to pack! All I would suggest is to pack some fresh sponges for yourself. The property is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Great views of sunrise, sunset and the night sky too. We had a full moon while we were visiting and it did not disappoint. But I imagine a darker night sky there is just incredible. We spent our mornings enjoying the cool mountain air in the hammock, our days driving to nearby hiking trails (recommendations below!) and our nights cooking dinner and hanging by the fire. On the weekend days, towns like Andes shops are open for business. Nice place to make a coffee pit stop before heading to the trails. Highly recommend Wayside Cidery, and for hiking to check out the different trails located all around the Pepacton Resevroir. We could have stayed an extra few days and still could have hiked new trails all within 30 minutes from the tent site. Not to mention, the opening for the road to the site borders the entrance to Plattekill State Forest. The path on property itself, right outside your tent is about 1.4 miles and definitely an intermediate hike. Would suggest wearing pants and hiking boots as its overgrown, and be sure to pack plenty water. The hike down is completely downhill... so prepare for the hike back up. Overall it was nice and peaceful and beautifully untouched. In regards to our tent/campsite, everything was clean when we arrived and taken care of. We felt very safe at our location, knowing that our hosts were not far away. I highly recommend Fire Watch when searching for your perfect Tentrr location. We already have friends booking their own upcoming trip! I can't wait to get back there myself.”
“This is quite possibly the best campsite known to man. It’s located on a beautifully secluded hilltop with complete privacy and glorious silence. You can’t hear a single plane, train, or automobile while you’re up there, nothing but the birds and rustling branches of the forest around you. The camp site is laid out very well with beautiful views in every direction, and you can drive right up to it (4WD recommended, but not 100% necessary when it’s dry). Not to mention Frank and Terry are some of the best people you will meet. They’re incredibly kind and accommodating, going well out of their way to make sure you have the perfect stay. Everything you could need is provided, from cooking supplies and a stove to soft bedding and portable shower, with plenty of potable water. I truly can’t recommend this site enough, we can’t wait to go back. - Sam & Claire”
“We had an overall good experience camping at Fire Watch Meadow. Some pros: If you are looking for a spot that feels very secluded, then this is the one. Also the camp stove was super helpful because we had kind of a rainy start to our trip and it was nice to be able to cook food fast without having to struggle with getting a fire started! Another bonus if you go in July is lots of wild raspberry plants. We made some delicious pancakes with fresh raspberries and whipped cream. :)
A few cons: Some of the "extra" stuff wasn't in the greatest condition.(moldy sponges, Leaky water container, rusty pans etc.) and someone had left a pillow out in the rain when we first arrived (we were fine, they had plenty, but it was kind of strange) None of this is a big deal if you are expecting a rustic camping experience, but it was still a bit off-putting because it made the place feel like it hadn't been checked in on in a while. That being said, if you are someone who doesn't have camping supplies, then I would say coming here for the extras is still worth it!”

“We had an awesome time at the Fire Watch Meadow site. It is secluded and private, but close enough to go into town quick for supplies or anything else needed. We are city folk who don't camp often so this site was perfect because it had everything we needed to be in the outdoors comfortably - full tent with bed and linens, propane gas range, tables and seating, extra things like a tarp and flashlights, etc. We ended up just staying on-site the whole weekend. Frank was a great host who gave us the rundown of the land on arrival and was extremely helpful on our way out and helped us jump-start our vehicle when the battery died. Thanks again for a great stay and we hope to make it back again!”
“My wife and I spent 2 nights at Fire Watch Meadow. Suffice to say, it was a great experience for out first camping with Tentrr. Frank and Terry are extremely thoughtful hosts, very responsive and caring and we really enjoyed our stay from the beginning to end.
We are not experts campers, so we really appreciated the fact that they provided us with additional tools and supplies, which made the trip even more enjoyable; water aplenty, a propane gas stove, super cozy bedding (the temperature dropped in the low 40s at night, but we still slept amazingly thanks to their setup) are only a few of the things that made the experience super smooth.
The place feels very secluded and intimate, with beautiful views on the mountains all around you. The road to get there can be a little intimidating for a small part, but Frank was very detailed in his description and directions, so we knew exactly what to expect and when. A 4wd would definitely be helpful, but we made it just fine with our regular rental car.
There are quite a few options for great hikes in the area and we loved the Balsam Mountain trail 40 minutes away (again, many more are closer, but we enjoyed taking a drive in the area).
We are recommending this site to all our friends and we can't wait ourselves to be back. The fall must be unbelievable out there!”
