“My wife and I spent 2 nights at Fire Watch Meadow. Suffice to say, it was a great experience for out first camping with Tentrr.
Frank and Terry are extremely thoughtful hosts, very responsive and caring and we really enjoyed our stay from the beginning to end. We are not experts campers, so we really appreciated the fact that they provided us with additional tools and supplies, which made the trip even more enjoyable; water aplenty, a propane gas stove, super cozy bedding (the temperature dropped in the low 40s at night, but we still slept amazingly thanks to their setup) are only a few of the things that made the experience super smooth.
The place feels very secluded and intimate, with beautiful views on the mountains all around you. The road to get there can be a little intimidating for a small part, but Frank was very detailed in his description and directions, so we knew exactly what to expect and when. A 4wd would definitely be helpful, but we made it just fine with our regular rental car.
There are quite a few options for great hikes in the area and we loved the Balsam Mountain trail 40 minutes away (again, many more are closer, but we enjoyed taking a drive in the area).
We are recommending this site to all our friends and we can't wait ourselves to be back. The fall must be unbelievable out there!”
“We loved our trip to Frank's Fire Watch Meadow. It was incredibly serene and secluded, just what we were looking for in a covid escape from NYC. No worries about running into other people. Frank includes all sorts of extras, making packing packing up for camping a lot easier. Having a camp stove was great. We spent the day in front of the pond - my son was enthralled with the tadpoles and salamanders. We lazed by the fire, gazed at the stars and marveled at the fireflies (we don't have them where I grew up). Essentially our trip was pure magic! But... there's always a but, right? BUT, we had to leave!!!! I'm still gutted. I would be sitting out in that meadow right now, if I could be. Frank was so great, and did everything from a distance to keep us socially isolated. Thanks Frank, you were wonderful! We can hardly wait to go back!!”
“This campsite is amazing! It's very well thought out, with a nice fire pit, hammock, porch swing, and grill + dining table. It's close to hikes in Andes and Platteskille forest, and the view from the campsite is amazing!”
“Fire Watch Meadow is an absolutely stunning campsite. The views are amazing. This campsite is secluded, very well-appointed with everything we could have needed, and did I mention the views!? They just installed a swing by the fire pit which was lovely. There was also a great trail leading down to a pond. Frank was super responsive and thoughtful. Do not hesitate to book this site!! We had such a wonderful time!!”
“Frank and Terry were kind and considerate hosts. They are so generous to allow guests to visit their property in such a thoughtful and open way. We arrived late (after nightfall) and Frank was so patient in helping us find our way and get settled in. The field and view is stunning and we can't wait to return! Fire watch meadow gave us moments of relaxation and peace of mind we were looking for away from our city home. Thank you again for everything. We cannot recommend this trip enough!”
“We had a fantastic time, this is the perfect glamping site! Totally private, secluded, and green, there are mountain vistas during the day and a planetarium-like views of the stars at night. The tent is very well-appointed, cute and clean, with above and beyond the expected amount of tools, supplies, and various other accessories to make your camping life easy and fun. Frank is very friendly and chill, and has obviously spent lots of attention on making this very sweet campsite a hospitable mountain home. Highly recommended, we want to return ASAP!”
“Fire Watch Meadow is a beautiful, secluded spot, equipped with all the modern camping essentials needed. Frank is a wonderful host, providing extra water, a brand new camp stove, and even a fully stocked kitchen.”
