“A wonderful campsite if your looking to be out in nature and go hiking, kayaking, and tent camping! So many things are provided for you already. Bug Spray, toilet paper, paper towels, pots and pans, bedding, a camp stove, fire pit, an enclosed mosquito net, kayaks, a bathroom, shower, towels, battery pack, fan, water, the whole 9 yards. If you have any questions you can ask and they reply swiftly! Our favorite sounds before dark were the bullfrogs that sounded like goats! He even offered us a later check out time! We loved it!”
“This is truly a primitive experience so make sure you have lots of bug spray for mosquitos, spiders and ticks. Our host was extremely hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure we what we might need. His communication was amazing and we appreciated feeling welcome. The location was great and it was a quick drive to the lake, hiking trails and 20- 25 min to Montgomery which had every store imaginable. We hope to stay again soon!”
“This fully private camp site is very nice. We went as a birthday surprise for my Boyfriend who loves camping. This is a new site, which still has some renovations the owners are doing, however it's definitely a beautiful work in progress. I'm not much of a camper so I'd have to say for not having running water or electricity, my favorite thing was having an actual toilet seat. The site is fully fenced in and great for dogs to run around safely. My 2 dogs loved it so much. The neighbor across the road has dogs that roam free, they are friendly, just barkers. The boat ramp is about 5 miles away, the sunsets off the lake are phenomenal. The couple in charge of this site are extremely nice and reply quickly. We will definitely be returning.”
“Was looking for a secluded place for a quick get away. Scott has carved out a section of his property for just that. Close to the lake and trails, lightening bug show at night, very clean, has a toilet with TP, trash can, bug spray, firewood etc.Bed was comfortable And tent has solar lighting. We brought our pup and he explored the campsite.Recommend a truck or SUV to get there. Scott will guide you if you get lost”
“The campsite was awesome!!! It is literally in the middle of the National Forest and only a 10 minute drive from the Lone Star TrailHead parking lot #6 @ Stubblefield. This trail was amazing! Even the drive to and from the trail was pretty. I had no idea we had such beauty Houston! This is the perfect way to spend the night close to the trail without having to pitch a tent. You should definitely stay here!!!”
“Very relaxing! Site was just like the pictures boasted. Great access to Lone Star Trail and mountain bike trails. Quiet and secluded. Host was excellent with communication. Perfect get away for escaping the city!”
