“I highly recommend this site for camping. We arrived at Bearkill Brook to a drive through a meadow to hear the sounds of a bubbling brook and find out tent nestled along the brook and inside the tent a jar of maple syrup made by hosts themselves.
The site next to the tent has an additional covered dining area, grill, and fire pit. Another 100 yards from the tent was a small private building with a hot shower, sink, and flushable toilet, which is a luxury when camping. The meadow area also had a covered area with a gas grill and food prep area, a large container full of additional chairs, tent, sports equipment and games. The meadow area also had a large fire pit that you could put chairs around and recreational area with a volleyball net. This site could hold a lot of people. The host has hosted many people in this space and upgraded the facilities to make this an amazing space. The hosts were just up the road, incredibly friendly, and even gave us a tour of the sap house, or where they made the maple syrup.
There are plenty of activities nearby including hiking, kayaking, and a cidery.”
“Peg and Dave's space was AMAZING. We booked it because of the reviews and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Being at their spot was a perfect location for the wedding we attended this weekend. We appreciated their hospitality and accommodations. Thank you for a fabulous weekend.”
“We loved this Tentrr site (it was our first experience). The camp area was fun and accommodated our group of 6 well. The running water in the bathroom and shower were AMAZING and definitely felt luxurious. Our kids loved playing down at the stream and in the field with all the lawn games. It rained some of the time during our stay and we had a blast every minute! We will be back!”
“We had a fabulous stay! We are a family of 5 plus a dog and enjoyed the grounds, the brook, the bikes, volleyball and horseshoes. There was plenty of wood for the fire pits (there are 2 - one in the campsite and one in the field) and lots of extras like charcoal, bug repellent candles and torches. Having a real bathroom and shower made life easier for us all. Peggy and Dave are great hosts! They provided a tour and even brought over some fresh vegetables from their garden. The camp site is private, shady and nestled next to a brook with a water spigot near the tent. My kids are asking when we will return! They also said they enjoyed it as much as houses we’ve rented for previous vacations.”
“I can't say enough good things about camping at Bearkill Brook for a first time Tentrr experience (and Dad/daughter weekend). My daughter learned to split wood, set a fire and that it gets very dark at night when you turn off the lamps (we could see the Milky Way). The site is very well supplied which is great if you have not camped since your boy scout days and your recollection of what you need (and have to bring) is dodgy at best. Plus having a flush toilet, electricity, spring water, an propane grill in a shelter, and a shower makes the entire "sleeping in the woods" thing actually appealing. The campkeepers, David and Peggy, are also super nice and friendly and we spent an hour or more chatting over coffee at "check out". They genuinely want you to enjoy the pristine natural environment and are near by but not too near by so you get a sense of isolation too. We recommend you book a few days here and enjoy some R&R off the grid. We'll be back! Thank you!”
“Our first experience with Tentrr and couldn't be happier. Peg and Dave were super accommodating hosts. Restful private site right on small stream. The entire area was clean, well maintained, plenty of wood and nicely shaded. Running water, electrical outlet and flush toilets - so nice.
Highly recommend this site. We'll definitely visit again.”
“Quaint and private with loads of space and all the luxuries of home, including kitchen and indoor plumbing! Loved our stay and our hosts were Fantastic! planning another stay soon.”
“Bearkill Brook offers a number of extras that proved handy for us. Unfortunately it rained almost all of our stay. (Including a massive thunderstorm overnight!) However, the outdoor kitchen, the canopy over the picnic area, the solar power outlet, the loo in the tent, as well as the indoor bathroom / shower room made our stay functional. Without the extras, our stay may well have been miserable, simply due to the weather. We really appreciated that the campkeepers made a point to show us around when we arrived, were available when we needed assistance with the gas grill, and checked on us in the morning after the storm. We were just sorry that we were unable to really explore the creek and the property.”
