“That smokey smell on my clothes and taste in my food? This novice camper made the campfires that caused it. Couldn't have done it as worry-free and with confidence if it weren't for obvious caring and preparation of Bearkill Brook's Proprietors, Peg and Dave. Free, plentiful wood, kindling, cooking supplies, fresh spring water, and solar-powered electricity.
The namesake Brook lulled me to sleep as much as it provided fun for my dog - not to mention the two surrounding meadows.
I was tempted to play badminton and the other plentiful equipped sports by myself, but I'll wait until I come back with friends. There were plenty of other amenities I didn't use: the gas grill, comfy chairs, extra blankets and the hot shower!
I did use the Hungry Jack Pancake Mix and the host's home-tapped maple syrup in the welcome basket.
Peg and Dave care for their farm and what they do so much that it's obvious they enjoy extending their care to their campers. I'm privileged and grateful to count myself among those who've camped at Bearkill Brook. Make time to read their guestbook before signing it while sipping your coffee in the to the sound of the brook while sitting on the adirondack chair on your deck.”
“Really amazing. The pictures only give a very partial view of what's actually available - just steps out of the tent there's a very large meadow with a volleyball net, a covered area with a gas grill, a real flushable toilet and a real warm shower, solar panels and plugs, a container full of all sorts of sports equipment, toys, balls... plus, the hosts are delightful and helpful. Firewood, kindling and lighting fluid were also all available next to the tent AND next to the larger fire pit in the meadow (yes, there's two different fire pits, and both have amazing settings).”
