“Many thanks to our hosts, my wife and I had a great time spending two nights overlooking the lake. The area is quiet and scenic, and we were treated to the sights of a fox and a flock of wild turkeys, as well as the sounds of owls at night.
I would definitely recommend bringing an awning or canopy of some kind as there is NO shade to be found whatsoever anywhere near the tent. If your canopy has individually-adjustable legs, you can put two on the platform and two on the ground and enjoy a beautiful shaded morning as you enjoy your breakfast. :-)”
“This is a gorgeous and remote location with an incredible view of the surrounding mountain sides and a sliver of Otsego lake in the distance. The tent and platform are in great condition, the wood burning stove in the tent was critical during the chilly fall night. Lots of wildlife making themselves known in the forest - howling coyotes, wild turkeys, deer - and probably bears and wild cats, so come prepared with enough lighting & heavy duty coolers to pack your food away safely. (we had a headlamp which was a life saver). The fire pit is huge and awesome!”
