Let there be light! The Coleman Instant Up Northstar 10P Lighted Dark Room Tent introduces integrated LED lighting to the popular Dark Room technology that reduces light, reduces heat and allows you to sleep longer whilst camping! Sticking strongly with the frame from the ever-popular Instant Up series, the Coleman Instant Up Northstar 10P Lighted Dark Room Tent has a special coating on the fly (the Dark Room patented fabric treatment) which blocks 95% of sunlight and keeps the inside approx. 5 degrees cooler, meaning you'll be cooler during the day and warmer at night allowing you to sleep for longer! Sleeping up to 10 adults, the ultra-fine mesh throughout the tent allows for plenty of ventilation! The Northstar 10P is the perfect instantly family cabin tent featuring all the benefits needed to suit a family with the convenience of a fast to set up the frame. The Instant-Up Hub frame design allows for a quick set up with the integrated pre-attached frame and takes just 3 minutes to set up. The central living space and two side bedrooms are incredibly spacious, and the front door can also be pitched out as 2 pole awning with the included awning poles for extra shade. Packing down just as quickly as setting up, the Coleman Instant Up Northstar 10P Lighted Dark Room Tent includes a heavy-duty carry bag for easy storage and transport! The awning on the Coleman Northstar Instant Up 10 Lighted DarkRoom Tent is purpose built to provide ample shade. The design, however, isn't ideal for inclement weather, so when the weather turns south, we do recommend dropping the awning where possible.

Easy to set up with 2 people, good quality, great for what it is, downside can't set up a stretcher it's a bit too small for that, also the middle room has a flyscreen ceiling so can get condensation drips, one more thing the zipper set up on the 2 middle doors I don't like because it's 2 separate zappers for the top and bottom not one zipper to open the whole door, besides that plenty of vents, has an awning, cool feature has an inbuilt light set up in every room which works very well,

It’s on heavier side. But I needed the room space and flexibility of multiple entry doors. We are family with 2 very young children’s , but with just my partner help I was able to set this up. The pegs need upgrade as they just can’t reach past fully without hanging their head.

First of all, some context for this review. Buying this tent is our young family's first foray into camping, and at the time of writing all I have done with it is put it up in the backyard for a night. Putting it up was simple enough...though the 3 minute claim is a bit of a joke. Think about it - just to unfold the inner on the ground and peg in four corners is probably worth 3 minutes. Erecting the frame and throwing the fly over is reasonably quick and would get faster with experience, but consider you have up to 50 pegs to install and realistically it is roughly a half hour job for one person from unpacking to finished. There aren't any meaningful instructions apart from some pictures on a tag inside the bag, so for instance we didn't know the significance of the red corner loop and it took a while to work out which way to use the guy ropes such that they held tension. Once set up, I really appreciated the height - being able to stand inside with room to spare is nice. We were unsure if we were going too big with this '10 person' tent for a family of 4, but it feels right-sized. The versatility of how you can set it up with various openings and awnings is nice (if a little daunting for a beginner). The blockout works well at blocking both light and heat. The lights are easy to use, though are dim even on the brightest setting. A deciding factor in buying this over the equivalent OzTrail was the ability to switch lights independently in each area. Without any experience to compare to, I felt the zips are a little fiddly. You need to be careful they don't eat up the material, though they do feel sturdy. On the main side entrance there is a side zip and a bottom zip that meet at a corner rather than a continuous perimeter, which is a bit annoying One thing you can't escape with a tent this size is its packed size and weight. This information is published, but it is still quite confronting in real life. The bag is BIG and HEAVY. At 30 kg, it is a two person lift and there aren't a lot of grab points. The only place we will be able to transport the tent is in a roof box, and it is too heavy to get up there all together in the bag, so we will pull the fly and awning poles out and transport them separately. The inner tent (with frame) alone is a much more manageable 20 kg and can be folded flat rather than rolled if that works better.
