Downunder Arctic Ice Pack 3500G Reviews

4.5 Rating 33 Reviews
Read Tentworld Reviews

The Downunder Arctic Ice Gel Packs are supplied in 3 sizes. 900gm, 2.4kg and 3.5kg. The non toxic freezer gel is injected into a multi layer, barrier film pouch giving the pack excellent strength and ensuring the polymer is not affected by continuous freezing and thawing. These packs do not absorb smells or dehydrate over time. Best of all, no melted ice in the bottom of the ice box. The Downunder Arctic Ice packs are now recognised as the best ice pack available to consumers due to their ability to freeze as cold as the freezers capability, not to zero, or just below as ice does. The colder the freeze, the bigger the block, the longer they last. They will freeze to -15C in a standard household freezers.

I wasn't so sure these ice packs could work for as long as they did - on average 2-3 days keeping our food and drinks cool. A must have for long term camping in the elements. I've recommended to a number of friends who are camping newbies.

Have been using these for many years. I really like them, but wonder if there could be a tougher plastic as they do pierce and let meat juices in & gel out etc. I put a cryovac plastic cover on them and they last a lot longer.

Great product. I bought a couple large bags (3.5KG) and a smaller one (2.4KG). They're great for keeping your eski or icebox cool and I also keep one in my Engel to maintain temperatures when I turn it off overnight. Can definitely recommend it to anyone looking to their icebox last a little longer. NOTE: They do take a few days to freeze completely so make sure to pop them in the freezer a few days before your trip!

I got these in the post Thursday lunchtime. As I was going away for the weekend and really wanted to try these out I put them straight in the freezer. I bought them for my dogs to lay on at dog shows so they don't overheat. Obviously they didn't have enough time to fully freeze as we were leaving the following morning. They were a hit with the puppies. They were still partly frozen Saturday morning and althou not frozen they were still quite cool for them Saturday afternoon. Thank you so much

Worth the buy! Freezes in about 48 hours rock solid in a standard deep freezer and keeps frozen if used in a decent ice box. Only issue is that the plastic feels a bit thin so we have wrapped it in heavier plastic to prevent piercing. We could just be paranoid though.

This ice pack stays very cold. I use it in an EEP insulated box for when I have food delivered - or for taking to the markets. The trick is to put it in the box 24 hours before hand so the box is very cold, then on the day of use replace it with another ice pack directly from the freezer. This way the box stays cold. I've only needed to keep the box cold for about 8 hours, but it works. The box sits on my verandah, in the heat of the day.
