This portable hot water unit is perfect for hot showers while camping, touring or travelling. You can even use it to wash your pets! With full Australian Certification (AS2658 - IAPMO Certificate Number GMK10507), this Smarttek unit is designed to last over 12,000 cycles. Each unit also includes its own individual serial numbers, ensuring that the quality of the product is as high as possible. The Smarttek Black Hot Water System is very simple to set up and is designed for ease-of-use. Smarttek describes the setup process in 5-easy steps: Simply hang your hot water system by using the mounting brackets or handle provided Connect the gas bottle using the gas regulated hose Connect your shower hose and rose to the water outlet valve Connect your water source to the water inlet valve Insert 2 D size batteries (provided) These Black Hot Water Systems can also function with a pump to 6L/Minute (depending on the pump). This kit comes with the 6.0L/Minute pump which can reach the maximum flow rate of the unit. As an added benefit, this Hot Water System is also dust, wind, rain and shock resistant! “Early days but have used it daily without fail. Powerful and hot. It's winter and where I am in QLD, (Gympie) it gets mighty cold, we've already hit sub 0°c mornings so the water heater is in winter mode and it's been perfect for afternoon/evening showers I would recommend this.”

“Bought this in Feb. 22 and seemed ok when I tested it but when I used it camping it would keep turning off when I put it on the winter mode. Turned out to be a design fault as the water temperature sensor is tucked up high in the right side where the air gets very hot. Had to unscrew it and relocate to the bottom outlet pipe which was extremely difficult. Easier alternative is to disconnect and join the wires together to disable the sensor. Helpline said the sensor has been moved to the lower pipe on later models. Worked well after that and achieved 25 degrees above starting temp. It’s a bit fickle and you need to start of at min gas and water to start with and slowly increase to get right temp.”

“After fighting the impulse to buy a portable shower for years I finally succumbed. The best camping equipment I've bought in years! Easy to set up, get a filter as well and carry a bucket. I use a10ltr container, which I fill up going through town, or throw my bucket in the river and use a filter on the end. Warms up quickly and, using the get wet, turn off, soap and rinse off method, find the 10ltr container is enough for one male. Just hang it from my bullbar, or stand it on my cookers stand and away I go.”

“I bought this to use in our off-grid property whilst waiting to get our HWS fixed and it’s been fantastic! Good, consistent temp, heats up really quickly and doesn’t use much gas. Also really easy to use. We didn’t need to use the pump though so can’t comment on the pump”
