A very noticeable step up from my Lumin U1 mini both in sound quality and the user interface. It has a very natural and smooth sound.

A considerable step up, both in technology and performance from my previous music server........ To be highly recommended.

Innuos make the best sounding music servers around. I bought a zen mark 2 2tb version about a year and a half ago from Jack. Saved up to buy the mark 3 4tb zenith. I kept the mark 2 and put that in the bedroom audio set up. And the mark 3 is in the living room. The mark 3 is a real step up in performance, and sound stage. I thought that the mark 2 was a great streamer, the new one is just better. I had a back up on the zen mark 2 to which I had stored all of my music flac/ hi res. Total of 756 KB. I basically put the hard drive into the back of the new one, to transfer all the music on to the mark 3. Innuos support are very good indeed. They helped me through the process to transferring the music. The customer service from innuos has always been top notch with getting information, and support on the mark 2/3. They are very passionate about there products. I was very surprised how quickly all of the music was transferred on to the new mark 3. Total 3hrs. And it was faultless, in that all music was there. Now on my system I can see 2 players that I can access. I have a Dave Dac in the living room/ and a Hugo 2 in the bedroom. The better the Dac you own the better overall performance from the innuos players. Well worth a demo.

The difference this server makes and how good it sounds needs hearing in a demonstration to be believed. Yes it looks expensive (well it did to me!) but it’s the most rewarding and satisfying upgrade I’ve done in a long time.

The Innuos Zenith III is my first foray into digital music servers and now I’ve been through the laborious but one off task of ripping my CD collection, I can really appreciate its benefits. I’m certainly listening to much more of my music collection and rediscovering music I hadn’t listened to for years. To be fair, Innuos make the process of ripping as simple as possible - just put in CD and it rips automatically in about five minutes and also finds the album details and cover artwork from the internet (or quarantines the small number it can’t find). There are album, artist and music genre categories which is all you really need but you can set up your own structure if required. I had to manually edit details quite a lot particularly for classical albums which have such inconsistent metadata, but the Innuos interface makes it is easy; if artwork is poor or not available you can upload your own cover art. I can happily recommend the SSD version which is silent in use, and 1TB should hold the equivalent of 3000 CDs. I’m using the Innuos as a player connected to a DAC and active speakers so needed a separate app for queuing and playing music - Innuos recommend IPeng for IPad which I found integrates well and makes playback effortless, and the sound quality from the Zenith III when coupled with high quality DAC is quite superb.
