“My current stereo system is not particularly shy in the bass department but I had an itch to reveal some of the more demanding stops in Anna Lapwood's recordings. I did not want the stereotypical boom boom sound that is generally associated with subwoofer, just seamless bass extension to compliment my current system, in what is regarded as being a fairly small size room. I originally looked at the JL audio Dominon series but after speaking with Ben this was not going to provide the desired result and the E and Fathom series were investigated. After an audition at the superb demo room between the E110, F112 I went for the F112, not that I particularly needed that amount of bass but because of the deeper extension and advance integration controls that D.A.R.O. and ELF offered. The sub, although compact is quite a unit weighing in at over 50KG but positioning the subwoofer on carpet is made very much easier using the supplied supersliders. After some post sales integration tips from Ben and the JL website, I now have the deeper bass extension on tap that my current speakers could not reach to.”
