“The ND555 and separate PS is a streamer capable of thrilling sonic performance. As with most Naim equipment it takes several weeks of use before a few rough edges start to sweeten and you enjoy optimal performance (Naim quote 100 hours). Initially I was a bit underwhelmed but patience is required as part of the journey. It is important to note that Naim does not provide an Ethernet cable. I was dubious about the sonic impact of an audiophile Ethernet cable between the socket and the 555. In my experience the Naim app is a bit unstable with WiFi and the stability improves with a direct connection. The cables are designed to filter out much of the RFI /EMI noise and it is worth trying two or three to see which works best for you. Budget 1-3k £ on top of the 555 & PS for a suitable cable. If the Naim app is really stable and the 555 sounds great over WiFi then keep the money in the bank.”

“The ND555 is as you would expect from Naim is a seriously top end source for your music. There is an ease in which the music flows and the way that singers and instruments are for want of a better word "placed" in the room is fabulous. I'd moved up from a NDX2 and the extra musical enjoyment gained from the ND555 for me was well worth the cost. Jack sorted a great trade in deal which made things much more affordable, always worth a call to the Audiobarn.”

“An absolute game changer; completely transformed my system! Having always had a weak source, I'm now firmly in the source first camp. I can't fault this product in any way. The extended home demo - Jack let me borrow an ND555 + 555PS for a few weeks - was really helpful and above and beyond what most other dealers are prepared to do in experience... though I do think he knew it would be impossible for me to return it having lived with it ;)”
